Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This park is great for a family morning or afternoon out.

The play park is great for all children ages. My 3 year old didn't want to leave.
There's a café, (We didn't use), bandstand, walled garden, statues, a waterfall, and a museum.

We were disappointed that the museum wasn't open as the website said it should have been and their own notice board outside. It would have been nice to learn more about Hawick itself.

Gold standard for public parks. So well maintained, clearly loved by the townsfolk. Excellent play park for kids and good cafe.

Fantastic park, lovely well equipped play ground. Nice short waterfall walk. Museum on site also. There is a cafe where you can get food and drinks. We visited for drinks and the service is very slow so be prepared for a long wait if you decide to visit.

Hidden gem- should be renamed Botanical Gardens as it has so many tree and plant species. Great play park for kids, walks for dogs, paths for cyclists and track for skateboarders. Interesting war monuments, sculptures of local celebrities, a Victorian fountain and bandstand. Very grateful that it stayed open all through covid.

What a beautiful peaceful place. Delightful late summer amble, the river drifting by in the sun, the shade of ancient trees. Plus it is well maintained and there is a fine coffee stop high above the river. Delightful.

We visited the park twice during our stay and what a gem it is. Beautiful shaded areas to walk in, a lovely river, manicured lawns and shrubs and a very good cafe. What is not to like! Would return there tomorrow and certainly hope to visit again.

Enjoyed a couple of hours in this very beautiful park. The local people are justifiably proud of this park and I can understand why. Highly recommend you visit.

This park is beautiful. Well maintained and plenty of seating throughout the park. Great play area for little ankle biters lol.
