- LavishCabbage16 contributionsI’d give it six stars if i couldThere’s so much to do and see at Dalscone and the animals are obviously loved and well cared for. It’s family owned and run and the passion they have for their animals and business shines in everything they do. New to 2024 is the small animal experience shed which is a must see! We visited as a couple and although they have so many activities for children the adults also get to be big kids too! The entry price is insanely reasonable for what is on offer. If I lived nearer I’d be there all the time! We found the farm originally online through their live Facebook streams, and that brought us specifically to Dumfries which has so much to offer visitors. Get your trip planned and explore what the farm and the area has to offer, you won’t be disappointed 😁👍Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 March 2024
- LizzieMeyPenrith, United Kingdom3 contributionsAlready planning our next visitWe went on opening day and everything was very well organised by the friendly staff. The café is immaculate and despite being very busy the service was excellent. It's obvious how much thought and care goes into doing everything to a high standard. We went as a couple to see the animals but there's also lots to keep kids of all ages entertained inside and out. The animals are clearly very well looked after and happy. I've been following the farm on Faceboook for a while and our visit more than lived up to our expectations, even in the rain. It was great to see all my favourite faces, and to meet new ones. Highly recommended as a great day out and amazing value for money.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 29 March 2024
- Margaret D1 contributionFANTASTIC DAY OUTFantastic places, loads of things for kids to do, and 95% of it is included in the entrance. Cafe has an excellent range of food. Farm itself is fantastic with loads to see, the new Small Animals is a must. All the Farmers and other team members couldn’t make you feel more welcome, and happy to answer questions regardless of how silly you might think it is. Best place run by the Best family and their team.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 31 March 2024
- Elaine GDumfries, United Kingdom26 contributionsA great day out, even for adults!I live locally to Dalscone but had never visited before because I don't have any children so thought it wouldn't really be for me. More recently, though, I had started watching Dalscone's videos on social media and I really wanted to see the animals so we decided to go and have a look. I'm so glad we did! Even without children we managed to spend a full day here. We fed lots of animals, got to see some live lambing/kidding (which was really awesome), stroked an armadillo, held some tortoises, saw lots of other small animals in the lovely new small animal experience (armadillos, marmosets and 'Wee Mental Davy' are firm favourites for me), had a walk around the farm, played mini golf, and had a lovely lunch and some ice cream from the Dalscone Diner. We will definitely be back and I will be telling others that they don't need children to visit. I also thought the ticket price was great value. For those who do have children, there is loads of stuff for them to play and stay entertained in a clean and safe environment. We are so lucky to have this available to us in our little corner of southwest Scotland.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 31 March 2024
- RedheadNYJasper, New York18 contributionsA family run place, for families, where you’re treated like family!Took me a year and a half to get back to Dalscone,(I’m for NY state) worth the wait. So many changes, the new small animal area is spectacular. A highlight for me was doing a FaceTime with my 3 year old Grandson in the states so he could see all the lovely animals. He loved Muddy Buddy! One thing that hasn’t changed is the kind, wonderful people that run the place and the lovely people who work there. A special shout out to Ewan for our lovely chat. I’m sure you are the best strawberry at the festival. Can’t wait until I get to come back. Bless you allVisited March 2024Travelled soloWritten 31 March 2024
- Claire E1 contributionA fantastic tourist attraction with a big heartWe visited Easter Monday and had a wonderful time. Easy to find, great parking facilities (thanks to the chap on duty), everywhere was clean and tidy and easy to navigate. Every member of staff we encountered were polite and helpful and genuinely looked happy to be there. The new animal house is amazing, helpful signage and Craig in amongst folk explaining what was what. Very exciting to see the animals in the sheds in real life after being a subscriber for a few months. All was just as you’d hope it to be, well kept, well looked after animals in a clean safe environment. We were lucky enough to see the twin girl lambs being born and really appreciate the effort Ben and Connor took in explaining the process, very professional. Superbly well stocked toy shop and beautiful gifts to be had in Alices’s gift shop. Came away with lots of goodies and will definitely be back. Thank you DalsconeVisited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 2 April 2024
- Happiness021019387239 contributionsMy favourite place to go❤️Dalscone is an amazing Farm Park for kids and adults . All the animals are so friendly and love all the attention you give them. The Park is immaculate the food and cakes are amazing and all the staff are so friendly . I would definitely put this on your bucket list as a place to visit , plus you can become a supporter like myself and watch all the streams they do . Also Alice gift shop is amazing anybody needing a lovely gift for there other half I would recommend checking the gift shop out it is just full with beautiful gifts I could spend a fortune in there. The New Small Animal shed is amazing and also the porcupines have just had 2 babies it's a must to go see . You will not be disappointed amazing place and amazing Family that runs it .😍😍Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 April 2024
- Tracy S1 contributionFabulous place with so much to do.Fabulous place to visit with the kids. There was so much to do inside and out, probably the biggest place with the greatest variety of activities along with small and farm animals. We all had a great time and would definitely recommend it, well worth a visit.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 5 April 2024
- megansmith100London, United Kingdom5 contributionsA fantastic day out for the whole family.Fantastic day out as family whilst on holiday in Dalbeattie. Our boys (4 and 2) loved it. The soft play was a brilliant size for both to enjoy. The outdoor facilities have everything you need for a full day's entertainment. My eldest loved the go cart track and the bumper boats. We enjoyed the mini golf course as a family and the 4 seater go karts were such a laugh. We visited the farm during 'lambing live' and were lucky enough to see a live lamb delivery and 2 goats kidded out with the assistance of Farmer Ben and Farmer C. We visited Dalscone in April 2023 for the first time and I have been watching along on Facebook ever since. We were so excited to come back this year and will definitely be returning for another family holiday!Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 8 April 2024
- Chantal HopkinsWorcester, United Kingdom9 contributionsA must for any animal fans to experience lambing & kiddingAnother wonderful trip to the best farm park. Absolutely loved it and will definitely be back next year for lambing. Met many of the farmers and other staff, all of whom couldn’t be more helpful and attentive whilst going about their farming duties. If you are a follower and can get there for a visit you really should. Since last year they have added a brand new shed and a small animal centre where you will meet Just Craig who looks after the animals and is on hand to answer any questions. My happy place where I hope to be back next year. Thank you Dalscone!Visited April 2024Travelled soloWritten 10 April 2024

Our first visit to Dalscone after viewing it in their webcams for months now, can honestly say our visit actually exceeded our expectations.
The activities they have suit all ages, they are spotless and look well maintained.
Toilets very clean and cafe bright and comfortable, serving fresh food cooked or prepared to order with a massive of variety of mouth watering cakes and sweets.
The Dalscone Team work hard but never to busy to stop and answer any questions or simply have a chat with you.
The sheep shearing demonstration from Cammy from the Sheep Game was highly entertaining and fun to watch.
All the animals looked extremely well cared for and were adorable.
I would not hesitate to recommend Dalscone to anyone, it’s simply amazing and affordable considering you can spend an entire day there and not get bored.
Thanks again Farmer Pete, Farmer Ben ,Farmer Connor and the rest of the team for a fantastic and memorable day.

Well worth a visit for both adults and children. Took my 15 month old grandson and he had an amazing day. We visited two days out of 4 spent in Dumfries and loved it both days. Great activities with loads for children to do. There is something for all ages. The small animals are great to see and Craig was willing to answer any questions on all the animals. Everything had a great veiwing level for children to see easily. You can also pay and book to do one of Craigs small animal talks where you can experience handling and learning all about them It is great to be able to feed and pet the other animals goats, donkeys cows etc. I could have stood all day just watching the Meerkats and the 5 baby Meerkats We were even lucky to see a baby Llama that had just been born. The farmers are lovely and the farmers care so well for the animals . The place is spotless. We had both lunch and an afternoon coffee in the cafe . The food and cakes is lovely and it is also spotless. I also like that they use all recyclable materials. I have seen comments about it being expensive but in comparison to other venues visited it is very reasonable considering how much there is to do. The day just flew in. Even just comparing how much it would cost for soft play alone and there is loads more than soft play to enjoy at Dalscone. The upkeep cost for the farm in comparison to the price in my eyes make it a reasonable charge for a fantastic day out . I have visited a few times and I will continue to visit regularly. There are loads of out door tables to sit at should you take a picnic and these are spotless and well positioned around the activities. Ice cream and milkshakes from the vending machine was yum 😋. The gift shop is amazing with a huge variety of toys and gifts . All in all I could not find fault in any way with Dalscone fun farm it was am amazing day out.

Great wee family run farm with loads to keep the kids entertained. It's very clean and well ran and the level of care given to their animals is top notch. Great value for money and the cafe had a great range of food for a very reasonable price.

Visited Dalscone for the first time this weekend and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Could easily spend a whole day here, so much to see and do. If you have younger children there is so much to keep them entertained. We had a 4 and 8 year old with us and they loved it.
Staff are all super friendly, the soft play and cafe was immaculately clean and outside areas were all well presented.
The animals are all very friendly and gentle when taking food.
We had coffee and cake in the morning and lunch in the cafe and everyone enjoyed their food.
Would recommend,

My elderly grandparents took my children (their great grandchildren) on a soaking wet day. They were told it would be £13.99 each including my grandparents!! They explained they just wanted the soft play to be told that wasn’t an option it was outside too which would be just shy of £56 for two children to play in soft play and my grandparents to watch. There was no way they could get outside as there was no break in the weather it was bouncing. Ridiculous that they can’t offer an inside and outside option. Infact it’s pure greed. Some parents can only afford to take the kids here as a very rare treat and it must be difficult to have to tell the kids you can’t go in as they charge the adults and the outside rate in inappropriate weather which many wouldn’t expect. They left and went to dino park which was £14 for the 2 kids and my grandparent could sit FREE and ensure they were supervised. There was another 2 family’s that done the same. We will not be back.

Probably the best farm experience EVER. We loved seeing all the animals and the new animal experience was absolutely fantastic! From Tiny porcupines, to beautiful birds to amazing reptiles, all being cared for by the knowledgeable Farmer Craig who was chatting away and so happy to answer questions. Farmer Pete was on hand to chat to us and the other farmers Pete, Connor, Hairbear and the lovely Nanny McFee could all be seen talking amongst the visitors whilst working tremendously hard caring for the goats and sheep!
We were thrilled to see a “live birth” and Farmer Pete and Farmer Connor talked us through what was happening, whilst talking calmly to the dear sheep “Dousy”
We eat in the cafe , and had a lovely meal, reasonably priced. Every single member of staff were delighted to see us and thanked us for our visit.
The entire farm, from car park, cafe, shop, toilets, grounds, to animal enclosures and animal barn were beyond immaculate .
I can’t wait to visit again in the summer when I travel from Devon back to Scotland!

I saw that Dalscone Farm Fun was the top attraction in Dumfries so I was expecting it to be good but it well exceeded my expectations. It looked like it had been built in the last 2 years when in fact it’s been going since 2004. Everything is immaculately clean and looks brand new. The indoor soft play was great with a lovely cafe and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. It’s definitely worth the money as we spent over 3 hours in there and if it hadn’t been for the extremely hot weather we could have been there longer. A must see if you have children and are visiting Dumfries!

This was our 3rd trip to Dumfries and our 6th and 7th to the farm . My whole family love visiting (age range 17-50+) but none more so that my 17 year old who is disabled. There is something for everyone no matter what the weather. The animals are friendly, well cared for and genuinely enjoy greeting the visitors. There is plenty of space for those who don’t want to be petted to stay back and happily chew their cud while the others get the fussing. The farmers are approachable and happy to stop and chat and all the staff, from the lads outside to the ladies in the cafe , are friendly, helpful and always smiling ( a great reflection on the farm as an employer) . The new small animal experience offers much more than its title suggests , with animals ranging from rabbits & guinea pigs to the more unusual armadillos & porcupines ( and a separate area with reptiles and insects ) .
As well as animals there is a spotless soft play area, large children’s play park, trampolines, sand pit (huge!), crazy golf, giant slide, snow tubes, go Karts and seasonal sporting events included in the price plus water wars (prepare to get wet !) and bumper boats for a small extra price (£2 or less)
This is a total day out and expect to stay for 4-5 hours to appreciate all that is on offer.
Also on site is an amazing toy and gift shop which can be visited without paying to enter the farm (although you may feel you’ve missed out on something special if you don’t go in and visit this charming farm)
As a seasoned farm visitor this is the only farm I will happily drive over 8 hours from my home in Kent to visit. We can’t wait to visit again !

What a fantastic day!! The farm is beautiful, the staff are the friendliest people I have yet to meet. My friend and I were completely taken with the sheep and goats. Farmer Pete, Ben and nanny Fi chatted away, answered numerous questions and shared lots of personal stories. The gorgeous red bearded gentleman 😉 in the small animal house gave an hour of his time telling us about all the animals the building of the new building, ideas for the future we felt really blessed to learn so much. We saw Donkeys, Llamas, pigs, tortoises, meerkats, birds, lizards, marmosets, porcupines with babies, armadillos, rabbits, beautiful goats with their Kids and sheep with their lambs. For a couple of 52 year old women we had a wonderful new experience.

I am a travel agent who has a 75 year old client that follows Dalscone on line. She wants to come visit and we are going to make it happen. Is one day enough time for her to visit and see the animals and have fun? Is it an easy day trip from Edinburgh?

Do you still offer annual reduced ticket prices?
Written 19 June 2018
I’m not sure about that Kate. Think you’d have to go on their website for that. Sorry I can’t help further.
Written 22 June 2018
Is this suitable for older children (11-13) as the website only quotes prices for up to 11yrs?
would there be enough for older children to do to make it worth a visit?
Written 19 April 2015
Would say not unless very small and limited ability.
