Our popular Art Tour is 'the best introduction to Kirkcudbright Artist's Town' ! Local guide Fiona will tell you of the lives of the famous artists that have lived, worked or visited the town bringing them alive with enthusiastic story telling. Hidden gardens, galleries and studios will also be included while characters from history, literature and film will delight you. Accessible and entertaining an easy street level walk with plenty stops . Please dress comfortably. Small Group Tours (up to 12 and £12 per head) and Private Tours . Advance online booking recommended. Refer to website for tour availability please.

Fiona is a great guide, extremely knowledgeable on art and the history of Kirkcudbright as the Artist's Town. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and meeting some of the local artists.

Mu wife and I had the pleasure of taking one of Fiona’s tours in July . Fiona is a fabulous guide and raconteur , she really brings the Artists Town to life with deep knowledge of the subject matter and a gift for delivering humorous anecdotes.

We booked and paid for the tour but had a puncture on the way there. Not only did they send an empathetic message but said without asking that they would reimburse us and took the trouble to recommend some galleries.
We will definitely take the tour on our next visit to Beautiful Kirkcudbright !

This is the essential guide to all things art, history and culture in the “artists town” of Kirkcudbright! Fiona is so knowledgeable, enthusiastic and welcoming, knowing all the local knowledge, and the local people, and so is often able to take you to places you could never access on your own. Everyone will enjoy the wealth of stories Fiona can relate and learn something intriguing regardless of whether you are new to Scottish art or already well informed!

This was a most wonderful experience. It started by Fiona welcoming us individually, and suddenly we were no longer a group of strangers, but a group of friends. Her knowledge and enthusiasm for the history of art made this a most memorable occasion. She made two dimensional pictures come alive by giving their history and telling us about the artist who created them. We also visited the places where the artists worked and lived. But this wasn't just a trip into the past. We also went into the studios where today's artists were creating and displaying their works. Not only did she know her subject, she knew the town and was greeted by locals who were just passing by.

What an informative and energising tour. Fiona is an excellent storyteller with the ability to transport you to another time. It was captivating to learn and relive the lives of Kirkcudbright’s well-known artists. She is a walking history book; her knowledge is very impressive. I was both delighted and inspired by the experience. I would highly recommend it.

My husband and I moved to Kirkcudbright for almost two years now. We thought the art tour a great idea for us to get to know this artist town a little bit better. What a great tour and we should have done it a lot earlier too! Fiona is so knowledgable about the art history of Kirkcudbright including all the fun little gossip or stories of the various artists featured on the tour! Fiona is super energetic and you could sense her passion and deep relationship with Kirkcudbright. Highly recommended for anyone who is curious about the art history of this beautiful town, locals or tourist
