    Faultless
We've come to kirkcudbright for a few nights. Went here the first night and the locals were amazing. Although the bar staff were amazing, didn't think much of it. Went today and the landlady recognised us and even the drinks we wanted. Amazing service from her and watching her, she clearly loves her job and the locals, but the way she was with us she clearly loves visitors. What a lovely place. I'll definitely come back. The venue gets a 10 out of ten, as does the amazing landlady! PS, If she reads this, this is why I wanted your name!

    Pub quiz fun
Can highly recommend the pub quiz in the back bar on a Thursday night. Great fun and a friendly atmosphere. LJ is very welcoming and the beer is good. There’s a very pleasant outdoor area too for a warm evening.

    Gin heaven
Stumbled on this bar by chance. Its astonishing - because of where it is - that this place has won the Best Gin Bar in the whole of Scotland (awarded by the retail trade). Great and knowledgeable co-owner was on the bar tonight. Absolutely well recommended ! Try the Jaffa Cake gin !

    A gin lover’s paradise.
As a solo visitor I was greeted warmly by all of the staff, so much so that I returned several times during my stay. I enjoy a gin and tonic and was certainly spoilt for choice with over 250+ gins to choose from. The staff are on hand to make suggestions and they are certainly dedicated to their garnishes, with each being suitably matched to your choice. There is also a seating area outside if you are fortunate enough to catch the sunshine. AJ and Simon were very welcoming and there was a real sense of community and friendship within this lovely watering hole.

    A real gem
During a bike packing trip we had a night in Kirkcudbright and whilst walking past this place looked interesting. So we called in after dinner and wow, what a treat. First class service with a friendly welcome, classy decor that wouldn’t be out of place in an expensive city gin palace. The gin selection was nothing short of magnificent and could have proved overwhelming were it not for the good advice offered. When we next visit the area we will be back. The Masonic Arms is a highlight of Kirkcudbright

My partner and I went here on the Saturday over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

I was really impressed with how warm and welcoming the staff were while we chose our drinks. The blonde lady who served us was kind enough to take the time to ask my girlfriend what kind of notes/flavour of whisky she liked so that she chose the right drink. We had a really nice Talisker whisky and a well-poured pint of Guinness.

Had never been to the Masonic Arms before but loved the atmosphere and staff so much that we'll definitely come back on our next trip to Kirkcudbright.

This was an unexpectedly cool and modern venue behind a traditional pub exterior.

It’s primary offering was an incredible range of gins, mostly sourced from Scotland, though beers, wines and other spirits were also on offer.

Well worth a visit.

This pub is usually packed on Friday's and Saturday's and it can be difficult to find a seat. The rest of the week, there is no problem. Infact, it was so quiet on the Monday night, when we were there, that they closed. When you can get a seat, it is a cosy place, particularly in the back room. A warm and friendly welcome from all the staff. They have a decent range of beers and ciders, the usual other drinks are a good assortment of Whiskies, as you would expect.

What differentiates this pub from most others, is their vast range of Gins, which takes up the whole of the rear bar. The range is so extensive, that they have put together a comprehensive menu, which describes each Gin in it's relevant category, the strength, what is best to add to it and the staff will recommend which tonic is best to accompany it. It is surprising how many Gins are local and from other parts of Scotland; though the range is truly worldwide. If you are feeling brave, you can go for the 77.7% proof from France. Our favourites were Downpour and Pommo Juicy, the latter being a Tomato Gin from Sicily. The prices are pretty reasonable, so much so that the mixers are proportionally more expensive than the Gins. There is a pretty little beer garden at the rear and the toilets are spotlessly clean. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time.
