Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Two sets of simple, but elegant fountains in City Square. They both have three tiered basins that look like baked tart pies, and each have two sculptures representing the four elements, Earth, Wind, Fire and Water. Pity there’s no water in the fountains.

These attractive fountains ⛲️ with their tumbling cascades of water, and superb relief unicorn sculptures by sculptor Lizanne Kempsell ( 1987) , bring an almost Mediterranean touch to the city square. These sculptures represent the 4 elements of fire, water, earth and air, and the accompanying poetry excerpts are by local Angus writers . The unicorn , in Celtic mythology, was a symbol of masculinity, power, strength, purity & innocence - and was adopted by King Robert in the late 1500s as Scotland’s national animal.

. . . these fountains form part of Dundee's identity and history. A focal point surrounded by the heritage buildings that remain, as sadly too many were demolished in the 60's. These fountains are a beacon for rejuvenation.

. . . nice addition to the square, provides a feature, better than a statue as there is at least the sound of running water, which is calming?!

Some attractive fountains in the city square. Only given average as when we were there it was raining so fountains were less interesting than they would have been on a sunny day.

This is right in the heart of the city and there are 2 fountains where people throw money in for some unknown reason. They sit on the right hand side under the balcony of the council buildings. Beside the fountains are numerous sets of tables and chairs and its all overlooked by the Caird Hall venue where most big gigs are held in the city. It’s generally kept really nice and clean and there is also numerous markets throughout the year. Nice for a summer activity and wont cost anything for sitting having a sandwich

A very nice city square with lovely fountains with carvings of horses and uncorns, the Caird Hall a grand hall famous for concerts and exhibitions and one or two cafes around it. Great place to enjoy the sunshine when we get it !! :O)

Dundee town centre is not that big.
Plenty of statues and water fountain to see.
There is not a lot to see or do but ok for a couple of days visit.
The Discovery ship and HMS Unicorn which is another old boat but both of these ships are far overpriced to go on board for what you are going to see and for the short time that it would take to do the tour on board.
The Desperate Dan statues are fun to see.
Quite a quiet place really ,but there are plenty of international tourist about.

Plenty of pubs and restaurants as well as fast food shops.
As for normal shops there are a few shopping centres but they are not very good.
