Great value, worth seeing, pleasant staff. You get a real taste of history and the views are great of the Tay estuary and over to Fife

Visited this afternoon whilst my wife was still on New Year break. From all the 'excellent' reviews on Tripadvisor I was interested to see what it had to offer. The grounds of the castle are well kept and there are excellent views from the exterior walls. Castle itself is in very good condition considering it's age and the beating it... More

This castle was built to protect the City of Dundee. The museum contains a comprehensive history of the castle and also the local community and of whaling exploits

This castle is a must - for the castle, the views, the exhibition, and the village. Great walk to the beach, some really nice restaurants, and one of the nicest villages in the area...

The stairs are steep and narrow turning round as you go up. We were welcomed by staff on the first floor where there is a museum. Spent a very interesting hour or so exploring the exhibits and historical information provided. Worth a visit if you are in the area. Dogs are not permitted inside the castle. It can also be windy at this location so wrap up if visiting in the cooler months.
