- moonDundee, United Kingdom283 contributionsBeautiful gardensBeautiful gardens and such a peaceful place to pass some quality time with family and friends. Reasonably sized. Is free for children and £5 for adults [free for University staff and students] was quiet when went despite being a very nice day and no one at entrance. Very well kept gardens and maybe a bit of an underappreciated space in Dundee. The full greenhouse was not open but again a nice little space to pass time and appreciate nature and varied plants.Visited May 2023Travelled with familyWritten 26 May 2023

Surprisingly really enjoyed the day here ☀️ we arrived on a sunny Thursday and before I came here, I thought that I wouldn’t really enjoy it but actually it was such a nice walk with lots of different things to see - cool trees, plants, flowers and statues. Even the view looking onto the Tay was amazing and we loved walking around looking at everything. There was also cool little paths to go down and a memory garden. Lots of picnic tables and seats along the way. Staff were really nice and informative and you even get a map which helped us more than we thought! We went into the greenhouses at the end which was cool, very hot but cool to see and also we liked the little vegetable patches too. The cafe sold drinks and ice cream which was nice, a wee bit expensive but nice. Overall, a really great day here and deffo will be back 🌻🌵🌹🪴

Not the biggest of Scotland's Botanic gardens but very beautiful and interesting. There have been some lovely interventions, art work etc in the gardens. Nice wee cafe too.

The Botanic Gardens are absolutely wonderful, even in late winter. The Scottish Native plants area especially is just magic - so clever to have packed so much into a small area.
The cafe, sadly, is not so great. The staff was almost hostile and all but told me they were too busy to serve me, (even though there were tables available) so I went elsewhere.

We went for the illumination event, which was excellent value for money.
Only real issue was that it was a guided tour event - rather tan at your your pace and at times it felt rushed, and as it was a large group difficult to see.

no. it's not. i actually thought it was a bit pricey. Can't remember exactly how much but I think about £4.50. It does close rather early though as does the cafe so timing is critical. We enjoyed it though

It is free to get into the Cafe and £3.90 (as people have already said) to go into the gardens. Both worth a visit!

I am sure guide dogs are let in; perhaps you have a hearing assist dog? I'm sure if you could alert them of your visit, they would be accommodating. The cafe is small in width but long...and the servers have to be able to assist the clients,so they might think companion dogs might encumber them...maybe email them? Hope this helps
