About
Treetop Trials is the newest part of the adventure at Craufurdland Estate. Probably the best Treetop Experience in Scotland. A family-orientated course with children as young as 5 years old able to participate. Ideal outdoor activity adventure for those seeking a pure adrenaline rush, lots of fresh air, fun & awesome scenery. Along with the other activities on the estate such as Archery, Crate Stacking, Tree Absail, Mud Run, Team Building activities, it is ideal for families, individuals, corporate team building, school & youth groups and adventure parties for all age groups. Safety is always at the forefront of our minds therefore we use a continuous belay system which is easy and simple for all users. You simply slide the safety line from one off the obstacle to the next along the safety wire, no need to click on and click off between activities. Treetop Trials circuit will take between 30 minutes to 3 hours to complete depending on the experience chosen, fitness and agility.

Great day out with a meal first at the Laird’s Table and the Pioneer Experience at the Tree Top Trials. All the zones are exciting because they are all challenging in different ways. You must be happy high off the ground, so don’t go if you suffer from vertigo.
Some parts are more exposed than others but the zip wire is the most fun and requires the least effort. In our trial there were 3 different zip wire experiences.
Some time is spent at the start making sure you know how to negotiate the obstacles with your K clip etc. You cannot fault them for spending lots of time on safety. How quickly you move round the course depends who is in the group but no one was rushed and everyone managed the course. The instructor was very patient, knew everyone’s name and offered lots of encouragement. Our 2 granddaughters (age 11 and 13) loved it so much, they haven’t stopped talking about it.

Myself and my 5 year old daughter had a great time here today, the instructor Cassian was amazing, he made sure everyone knew what they were doing and happy before letting us tackle the course. The course is varied and presents different challenges. Cassian is very helpful, friendly, patient and encouraging with the kids. Couldn’t have asked for more from him and the overall experience and the price we paid. My daughter said she wants to live on the course and do it 500 times a day! Expect to get your clothes and shoes slightly dirty, best to bring a change of shoes to wear in the car on the way home to avoid the mess I had to deal with! Perfect activity for 5-10 year olds, confidence building and helping them believe in their abilities. 10/10. Thanks to Cassian for being amazing. We’ll definitely be back

Thank you so much for your feedback, I'm glad you and your daughter had a great time and also got more confidence out of it. I've also passed this onto Cassian.

Although it was a bit wetter than we hoped (can't do much about the weather) the kids had a great time on the tree top trials. Registration and kit up was made easy by the staff and it's obvious that safety of participants is taken very seriously. A lunch at the Lairds table rounded off the afternoon. Will definitely be back with the older kids to try the higher difficulty route.

Really easy to book and reasonably priced. Arrival was a bit mixed up, due to the Covid19 changes (we were told to wait in the LONG cafe que only to be told to go and wait by the Kit area).
We did get sorted eventually.
We were in a group of 6 and kitting up takes a few minutes, but felt very safe. The 2 instructors were brilliant and friendly. My 7 yr old was hooked up and off he went! LOVED IT!
Due to his age, we could only do the Wildcats course, which takes about 20mins to complete.
Wouldnt hesitate to recommend.
We'll be back!!

WOW!!! Definitely an experience I'll never forget!! Tree Tops Trials Craufurdland Castle Estate Kilmarnock I thankyou very much for the wake up call and kick up the backside I've been needing since feeling too old or feeling I've left it too late to try a high wire course I only have ever heard my teenage kid's and their friends talk about and how they felt before the high wire challenges and the achievement and Buzz they felt on completion. I decided to visit the Estate and had a coffee from the on-site restaurant The Lairds Table and went a walk along the woodland paths next to the Tree Tops Trials zones and could see clearly without actually participating why my kid's and their friends rated this experience so much. I had a good chat with one of the instructors during my visit and through the confidence and safety first impressions from them I booked up and to cut the story short I conquered the Adder course challenged myself more and conquered the tree climb and rung the bell biggest accomplishment and I now have major bragging rights because I conquered the Eagle course. None of this would have been achieved without the support and coaching instructions team ( must have the patience of a saint) who's empathetic ways enabled this old man to realise your never too old to feel young again.

Great time with the kids.
My 10yr old went on the pioneer and my 7yr old daughter the adventurer route.
My son thought the video was complex but was quickly shown how easy it was to navigate the gear when shown by our instructor Suzanne, who talked us through it and supported through the stages, and how safe it all was.
He thoroughly enjoyed it and had no fear as we both navigated the 3 stages, which leap of faiths at the Tarzan and zip lines.
My wife and daughter did the other younger adventure route and after an initial trepidation she got her confidence and loved it.
Would love to do it again and would recommend to others looking for a challenge for 1/2 hrs.

Very well organised and safe tree top adventure. Covid safety and social distancing in place. I completed the smallest trial with my 5 year old. I'd have to say I found it very tricky with her so young and feel this may be more suitable for a slightly older child. It's still high, despite being the smallest trial. My 10 year old son completed the pioneer trial and absolutely loved it, it was challenging thrilling with amazing zip slides along the way. 2 hour session although the safely briefing took around 50 minutes (understandably) would absolutely recommend. I would also recommend the cafe for coffee and cake afterwards!

Fantastic fun for kids, teens and adults alike! A well laid out adventure with the basic one only about ten feet up so you can see them as they go.
There are three levels of adventure though our grandchildren only used the simplest one, more than adequate for up to 12 years old in my opinion.

Participants are secured to a running safety line at all times and they can get round the course at least three times in the session. All safety equipment is provided and instructions are given at the start.

I was well impressed with both the layout and the construction!
Wear clothes and shoes you can get dirty.

Great course for first time adventurers or younger children. Very helpful instructor with lots of patience. We were a group of 9 to 11 year old children. Course was fun and not too challenging, ideal for first timers. Beautiful surroundings in Craufurdland Estate. Safety standards are excellent. Highly recommend. We will be back to try the bigger course. Thank you.
