Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely little farmer's market in the centre of Leith on a Saturday. Worth it to have a little wonder about and see if there's anything you'd like.

Excellent Saturday Market. Busy but not too busy. A good place to meet and chat or just browse. We bought fresh fish and vegetables and they were all totally delicious.

I’ve wanted to visit this market for ages and finally made in on Saturday! Great food and so refreshing to see happy, friendly people selling! Picked up some delicious burrata and enjoyed a delicious crepe too!

Markets are always fun to visit to check out local made wares as well as local food and food from far away. This market was not too big and is open only on Saturday’s offered many food vendors, a few African food vendors as well. We had fun trying a spicy and sweet fried dough ball.

My partner and I are regular shoppers at Leith Market. Located on Commercial Street, close to the Shore in Leith it’s thereevery Saturday.
There is everything from artisan breads, local farm produce, butchers, fishmongers and lots of local food and drink producers selling specialist products. You can also grab a good cup of coffee and a hearty breakfast/ delicious lunch and snacks whatever time of day you go along.
Well worth a visit.

What a lovely surprise to find this market almost adjacent to our Airbnb. Lots of engaging banter, fresh veggies, interesting cheeses and meats.
It was good fun.
It is wheelchair friendly.

I love markets and this one has to be one of my favourites. It is very small and probably not worth a specific trip out from Edinburgh but if you are in the vicinity on a Saturday it is a "must visit". The food stalls sell the highest quality produce which deserve their quite high prices. The "medium" pot of gorgonzola cheese cost me £8 but it was like no other gorgonzola that I have ever had before. It was described as "gorgonzola ice cream" and looked just liked it. Rich, creamy and full of flavour. A special mention must go to the lady selling "breakfast tatty scone wraps". A full Scottish breakfast wrapped in a tatty scone wrap. Just so full of flavour.

I specifically visited on the first Saturday of the month, as this is when the market has a vegan theme, with a guarantee that at least a quarter of the stalls are vegan. It's quite a compact little market, easy to find near the docks and pleasantly busy. The stalls were varied - mainly food/drink orientated, but I did notice one selling cute terrariums! As promised, a high proportion of the stalls were vegan, with cupcakes, pies, doughnuts and burgers just some of the treats on offer. I'd recommend going early though, if you're looking to buy anything specific. I went at about 3pm and a few of the stalls had sold out. It's open from 10am-5pm, every saturday, although it's only the first of the month that's specifically vegan-themed.

Visited on the first Saturday of the month when the market has a particular vegan focus. Although neither of us are vegan we are interested in the innovation and variety that vegan producers are particularly good at. There was a range of food stalls selling everything from olives to beer to cupcakes, vegan street food, coffee and the rest. A great place for a wander round.
