    A grand day out
Spent a fabulous afternoon with the Alpacas today. Bob and Cat (hence the name) were wonderful hosts, putting everyone at their ease. The Alpacas were very friendly, but all have, their own distinct character. We had a great time and would highly recommend.

    Amazing afternoon with alpacas
Originally bought before covid and had to wait three years but well worth the wait. We arrived and met Bob who runs the alpaca experience. He introduced us to the boys, telling us a bit about their personality and we were then invited to choose our alpaca. It was a couple of hours walk with beautiful views though the pace was slow as Milo, Artie, Calvin and Praline (our boys!) loved to stop frequently and eat the grass. They were perfectly happy getting cuddles. Bob also gave us plenty interesting facts about the alpacas. He clearly loves his work. The day finished with us feeding all the alpacas including the females and baby alpacas. If you bring a child they have dual reins so they can enjoy the experience too. Highly recommend it. I called Milo the Handsome Hungry Horace haha.

Highly recommend a family day out here
Would highly recommend this for a fun family day out. I brought my daughter and her friend and they both had such a good time. Bob was very informative about the alpacas who were all friendly and enjoyed the leisurely walk. Afterwards we hand fed the baby alpacas. Would love to do this every year when the weather is getting better. We had a great day for it. Wear footwear suitable for walking on uneven surface. It’s a ten min walk from no 10 bus stop and about a 15 min walk from the no 16. We arrived about 15 mins prior to our slot and had fun meeting the alpacas while we waited for everyone to arrive.

The whole experience from beginning to end was fab. Bob was great. Very knowledgable and happy to answer questions along the way. The walk itself was beautiful and the alpacas seemed to love it and were so friendly and well behaved. Brilliant day out

    Fantastic experience
What a fantastic afternoon. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience, Bob made the introductions to the Alpacas fun and informative. The walk was leisurely and there was time to meet the female and young Alpacas afterwards too. I would recommend this activity to everyone, something really different and special and makes a lovely gift experience.

The best day of my life!
Bob and Cat were fantastic hosts/guides. I had an amazing time walking and feeding the alpacas. They're all so unique and it's hilarious to see their different personalities when they're all together. The babies were so fluffy and small. I love their cute little toes and their buck teeth! Hands down, the best experience in Edinburgh. 100% recommend that you try it if you get the chance.

    Brilliant Experience!
Amazing experience all round! The walking route is beautiful and very scenic, Bob and Cath are wonderful hosts who clearly care a lot about the alpacas and had some great facts about them. The alpacas themselves are little tykes but that’s what you’re paying for right? 10/10!

    Amazing experience
Being able to be so close to the animals was amazing. My kids loved it from start to finish. Bob & Cat were friendly and so informative. The alpacas were the star of the show with their funny antics and characters. We would love to return again.
Hi Ailsa We are delighted you and your family enjoyed your visit with us. Thanks so much for taking time to leave your lovely 5 Star review, we truly appreciate it. Kind regards Cath & Bob

    Bobcatastic!
Beautiful sunny day for a walk with the Alpacas (Praline and Petros). Bob and Cat were really friendly and welcoming. Took you through the dos and don’t while walking the alpacas. Loved hearing about their individual personalities. You could see the separate paddocks for the males, mummies and babies (Cria) and Yearlings - they are well taken care of and spoiled for space to roam around freely. There are a few expectant Mums so more new additions to the family are due any time now. The walk lasted for around 90 mins and you then went back to feed the alpacas their dinner. The experience was really informative, Bob and Cat wanted you to ask lots of questions. The Alpacas were well behaved when cyclists, other walkers and dogs were around. It was a family friendly experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again later in the year when it’s cooler and less flies around - the alpacas didn’t like the flies very much or the heat.
Hi Lesley We are delighted you enjoyed your visit to Bobcat Alpacas. Thanks so much for your lovely very kind review. Kind regards Cath & Bob

Had the best time, the Alpacas were adorable! Nice wee walk and learnt alot about them. You could choose which one you wanted to walk with. Each has there own personality. I got to walk Marco Polo and he was well behaved most of the time.

Literally the best day of my life. Bob was so informative and passionate about the Alpacas it made me so happy. I chose Eureka as my alpaca and I understand what Bob meant by the alpacas having a personality. The walk was so fun and then we got to hand feed the alpacas after. We got very lucky with the weather in winter as the Sun was out the whole time. I cannot recommend this place enough.

An interesting few hours, walking in a beautiful location with these lovely alpacas, they are well looked after and peaceful animals, I was a bit apprehensive but Bob, the Co owner of Bobcat alpacas put us all at ease, explained various interesting facts about alpacas generally and spoke humorously about his alpacas and their characters too, I highly recommend walking with the alpacas.

Great fun experience which could be enjoyed even in bad weather! Loved meeting the alpacas and Bob has lots of interesting facts to tell us. They are gentle, calm creatures. So nice to get to know them. Walk is easy and Marco Polo was a well-behaved boy! Wear waterproofs and walking boots/shoes

Visiting for Cornwall and showed up a bit early to the farm, Bob was great and let us go in and get to know all his Alpachas. Girlfriend fell in love with one called Calvin and when it came to walking them, she snatched him up. All the alpacha facts was really interesting and I couldnt think of a better way to spend the morning than in this lovely farm. Will be coming back again and hope everyone gets to experience this place atleast once

Bob was a brilliant host and had loads of fun facts for us along the way, he was so kind and welcoming and his and his wife's farm was just brilliant. You can tell these alpacas are well loved and the walk we took with them was just so pretty. We got to walk Calvin the Alpaca I fell in love with him so sad we couldn't take him with us, and feeding all the alpacas after the walk was cherry on top, if we ever end up this way again we will definitely be coming back it was the most fun thing we did whilst we were here!

A fantastic experience, wonderful gentle creatures & friendly and knowledgeable staff. Could maybe offer some sort of stall/shop to buy mementos/souvenirs to remember the visit? Apart from that highly recommended👍.

We were an all adult group with friends and family and all enjoyed it. We got to pick an alpaca by temperament. I had an adventurer while my husband had one who liked a cuddle. Lots of interesting alpaca anecdotes along the way. We were the envy of the other walkers! My son is already planning his next one!

Bob was so friendly, patient, knowledgeable and great at speaking to our varied group - he made a real difference to the experience.
The alpacas themselves were fabulous! Such great personalities and pretty cuddly! Meeting them, walking with them, feeding and learning about them was an honour.
The walk was slow and steady, mostly pathways, a nice loop with a varied slope. Glad we wore wellies and were well wrapped up against the cold and wind.
Great value for money.
