Wag gave a great beer tasting tour of Edinburgh. He knows his hops and history. He took us through the history of beer making, dating back to the monks of Holyrood, and we had a range of tastings from the micro breweries in and around Edinburgh.

We loved our pub tour of Edinburgh with Iain. His knowledge not only of the pubs and beer selections but of the history of the city made for a great afternoon. We visited pubs we never would have found on our own and we felt like we had a true inside view of the city. The beer selections were varied and we came away with increased knowledge of local brews and the beer making process.
We enjoyed meeting the other travelers on the tour and Iain was top notch!
We highly recommend this tour while visiting Edinburgh.

Sarah was an awesome guide and extremely proficient in anything that had to do with beer. We got to taste a lot of it, (even more then promised ;) ) and had the best time.

Wag was an amazing guide with so much knowledge on the subject and even more. We loved the whole visit, the explanations about beers but also architectures of Edinburgh. Everything with so much fun and laughs ! Thank you again !

It’s was a great and friendly tour with a very knowledgeable guide. If definitely worth the time to learn about Edinburgh quickly. A great way to get your bearings of the city. Met some very friendly people from all around the globe.

A greate experiance. Our guide Ian was brilliant - he really knew a lot about beer and combined this knowledge smoothley with tales of Scotlands history in an understandeble and fun way. So nice to be in a small group with a live guide, not just an audio voice in your ear, and be able to ask questions and have an actual conversation within the group. And the different types of beer were quite exciting to try - got a couple of surprises (positive) as to what I thought I would like before I tasted. I highly recommend this tour!

This tour was a highlight of our trip to Edinburgh! Not only did we get to go to some cool pubs and try great beers, we learned so much about the city and its history. Our tour guide, Iain, was great! He was super knowledgable about beer and Edinburgh and incredibly friendly. Definitely would recommend to any visitors who enjoy a pub and want to know more about this city!

Together with a friend I participated in this tour on saturday June 17th and it was a really great experience. We were us two danes, three brits, three scots and four americans. The group ambiance worked well and we chatted in a cosy way about the beers and other stuff. Our guide's name was Wag and he played a crucial part in making this a great experience i.e. very informative, very kind and also funny with good jokes and great stories. I am no beer expert, but my friend is - and she liked the beers and the variety of them. I'm sure she found them too small, these tastings, but it's like that when you can't get enough of dark scottish beer <3

We had so much fun with Sara, our guide. The tour ended up being all women and I would highly suggest her tour if you are planning a girls trip to Edinburgh. Women played a very important part of the brewing tradition of Edinbught in the past. I don't drink, but there were wonderful mocktails available at every stop along the way. We had a wonderful time and recommend this tour for every beer lover out there.

Hi Also 2nd question, if i don't drink beer, can i buy the non drinker tour and buy wine, cider etc from the bars we go to? My husband is the beer fanatic and shall simply enjoy the day :)

Yes - if you get the non-drinker ticket, you can buy drinks as we go. We may still encourage you to taste the beers and if you decide you'd like to join in the beer tasting as well, you're most welcome!

Hi How far roughly is the walking element? I was thinking of buying this as a gift for my husband for his birthday, but he has a bad hip and cant walk endless miles but a couple wouldn't be a problem...
