Enlightening beer history lesson of Edinburgh

Enjoyed this tour very much & it was great learning about Edinburgh's history through its beer. Being regular visitors to the city I thought I knew (& had done a lot) about the place however this was something fresh and interesting.
Our tour guide, Mhairi, was lovely - could have chatted to her all day! Very informative & knowledgeable about the subject - seems we have the same favourite beers too!
Feel like I learned a lot more about beer & the city itself - recommend this tour as it's something a wee bit different.

Highly interesting, educational and very fun time in Edinburgh

Ross was an incredible tour guide, very friendly, highly knowledgable and great company throughout the 2 hour tour.

The tour is split into 2 halves, in the first you are taken around Edinburgh at a gentle pace and told many of its secrets. Ross encourages questions and at no point was unable to answer with another fascinating tidbit. For the second half, you're taken to The Urban Fox Bar and taste a wide range of lagers, ales and stouts, accompanied by a wealth of interesting knowledge on the world of beer and what's in your glass.

A great way to spend a late afternoon or kick off an evening, cannot recommend highly enough for anyone looking to learn a bit about the city's rich tapestry and sink a few glasses of beer.

Simply brilliant

Ross was brilliant, we mucked up the meeting point and he ran across town to collect us, then guided us through the city with some interesting notes on some monuments and buildings as we went. Then delivered some bloody tasty beers. All on one of the hottest days of the year.

Cannot recommend enough, went above and beyond. An absolute gentleman and very knowledgeable beer connoisseur.

A very fun pub crawl with history

Ian was an amazing guide that was both fun, knowledgeable and happy to jump into any topic we felt like bringing up. Was a very fun experience that was a great mix of beer, pubs and genuinely fascinating history. Would highly recommend this tour as an awesome way to learn more about the city and beer!

If you like history, beer & walking - this is an absolute must for visitors to Edinburgh. This walking beer tour was for 3 adult family members & was led by Ross, who felt like the 4th family member by the end of the tour. Ross was so interesting, we learnt so much about the history of beer in Edinburgh in a friendly, fun & informative way. Tried some really tasty & unusual beers too. Would definitely recommend. Comprehensive and super fun

This tour set up our ENTIRE month in Edinburgh! Sara was a super fun, knowledgable, and inclusive tour guide. She gave us a better history tour of Edinburgh than most other actually history tours and left us with excellent recommendations for beer and food for the rest of our stay. Would 10/10 recommend for anyone visiting, whether you're a beer lover or not!

We did the tour with 10 adults, it was a great learning experience in a fun way.
The beers we tasted were great, and our guide was a really nice guy. The walk during the tasting was entertaining we saw area's we probable wouldn't have seen with out the tour. We recommend this tour to everyone above 18 years old.

Fantastic afternoon

We took a private tour (Leith Taproom Trail) for six of us who were in town for a birthday weekend. Our guide Jenny was full of knowledge and stories not just about the beer but also the history of brewing in Scotland and Edinburgh. We went to three venues that we would have been unlikely to find on our own, and tasted a wide range of beer styles including things we would never have thought to try ourselves. I cannot recommend it highly enough and at least one of the group is already planning a second visit with some other friends.

Great walking history tour and beer tasting. Found out lots of unknown interesting bits about Edinburgh, beer related and other random facts. The beer tasting was interesting, relaxed and really good beers. Ross was really great-knew his stuff, very friendly and chatty and really made the experience. Would highly recommend.

Really enjoyed this tour! Have lived in Edinburgh for many years and learnt quite a lot of new and interesting things, all linked to beer. The tasting was good, with a little bit of everything to try so suits everyone. Our guide (Ross) was also great, very knowledgeable, fun and happy to answer our questions. Would recommend.
