I had the most amazing time. Did two different tours, the Loch Ness-Highlands-Glencoe day trip and the Stirling-Whisky-Loch Lomond day-trip. Both drivers - John-Paul and Mark accordingly - were knowledgable and entertaining, as well as considerate about our needs and wants. We did several small stops for pictures and were guided through Scotland's history along the way. Awesome two days.... More

We went on the Loch Ness tour with Sergio as the guide. It was a beautiful winter day so we were able to stop many times for amazing pictures, and Sergio was a cheerful guide who gave us a lot of information about the places we visited and Scotland in general.

We did the three day tour of the highlands and the Isle of Skye, and I have nothing but good things to say about it! Our guide, Fergus, was easily the standout- a really friendly and personable guy with a wealth of knowledge about pretty much anything and everything (plus excellent music taste and a brilliant accent). I haven't done... More

Great experience. I booked the tour 2 days ahead and I had the feeling the Lady on the desk did a very good job. Basically it is clear that if you only pay 34 Pounds, that e.g. Entrance fee for Stirling Castle cannot be included, but nevertheless she told me. I first asked for the highland tour. I told her,... We did the one-day trip to Loch Ness and Glen Coe and it was fantastic. Fantastic sights! We had lunch overlooking the loch and picked up some great scotch on one of our pit stops. It was a long trip, made longer by a family who was having a hard time sticking to the schedule, and the driver went a... More

Our tour guide, Rob, on the 2 day tour was amazing. We had a great time and saw some amazing parts of the Scottish highlands. Considering it was the middle of winter we couldn't believe how great the weather was with several hours of blue skies on both days. Rob was extremely knowledgeable, entertaining and managed to ensure we all... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
