Great comedy venue! We saw the Thursday night "Best of Fringe" show, and the assortment of comedians was great and quite funny. The host was also great and had some good banter with the audience. Comfy seats and a great atmosphere, would recommend!

George was a fantastic MC. Lots of great energy by the time he introduced the first comic. Small, intimate room but not too much pressure on the folks in the front row. Friendly and fun but edgy and hilarious. So cheap for an hour of laughs.

Hilarious show! I'd recommend to anyone! My cheeks still ache from laughing! If I'm ever back in Edinburgh, I'm going here again! Even if English is your 2nd or 3rd language, you can still understand everything.

Very good host, a performance itself. 4 guests comedians at Friday 27 oct. 1st one really good, then two performers of lesser quality but still good and last one was the very best. Fast, selfreflecting good humor, great!

Love Edinburgh and love The Monkey Barrel. Such a great night and by far the best comedy venue in the city. Very cool vibe in the bar area and very organised in relation to getting a drink. The 4 comedians were superb and very skilled at incorporating their set to fit the audience. The comedian introducing them was masterful and extremely engaging with the crowd. It's right on the royal mile and was hands down my favourite night. Laughed until it hurt.

We attended the 5pm slot on Saturday night 4th Nov 2023. The staff were friendly and the venue was perfect cosy and underground in what looks like an old vault, with a nice sized bar and reasonable prices attached to it. All of the staff were awesome and helpful. The compare and acts were brilliant . I would highly reccomend a visit whilst in Edunburgh

Went to the 9pm big show on Sat 4th Nov and it was absolutely brilliant! all the comedians were really funny, venue was in a great location and great staff!! Couldn't recommend going highly enough! My wife isn't the biggest stand up fan but even she said it was her favourite thing we did in our long weekend in Edinburgh.

Decent venue, seats are comfier than they look. The comedians were funny and the show was put well together. Highly recommend (I'd go again), though I went with my mom so depending on the type of comedy, I recommend the show and venue but not going with your parent/s 👀

Went last Friday Eve for the 7pm opening with friends. Venue is easy to find off the Mile. Bar wasn't packed and served quickly then was led through downstairs to the stage area. 3/4 acts I found funny. Well worth the £14 ticket

We went to the 9pm showing which contained 4 different acts all with a different style of comedy which made for an entertaining show. You all wait in the bar before the show starts then it is a first come first seated arrangement- we had the honour of front row seats! The host and comedians interacted with us well and we didn't feel we were put on the spot too much which made for an enjoyable experience. Would definately recommend for a fun night with a good few laughs!
