I have always walked away with fantastic piece but it's worth visiting just to have a look around! We specifically visited Edinburgh to have a browse! Great range of eras and sizes.

A real treasure trove of Edinburgh fashions theatrically arranged and priced to sell. This may not be your local consignment store, but floor to ceiling brimming with racks of high quality garments and baskets of accessories to enliven your wardrobe.

I love second hand clothes shopping, and Armstrong's is one of my favourite places to look. The staff are always very friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming. You don't even have to spend any money to have a wonderful experience looking around one of...More

I rarely miss out a vintage shop and this is definitely one of the better ones. It's large, cavernous and has a big range of both men's and women's clothing including an array of kilts. Great for picking up a second-hand Pringle jumper or mohair...More

Really great vintage shop. Visited the Grassmarket branch but there are also another two in Edinburgh. The one we went had so much stuff in it on lots of layers and knooks and crannies. Worth a visit even if not buying. Many different eras too

I buy and wear vintage clothing and finding this shop was a treat! It stocked so many eras of fashions. I bought a wonderful 70's Welsh wool waistcoat. It was like an Aladdin's Cave of wonderful fashion. Would recommend a visit.

This place is really, really cool if you're looking for something awesome to wear that was MADE in the UK, in a day and age where it's hard to find any kind of clothing not made in China. Obviously not EVERYTHING here is made in...More

In my humble opinion, I don't understand the fame of this establishment: it's true that it has very beautiful retro outfits, but many items are tatty; and prices are exorbitant for the quality they sell: I bought a kilt at a good price, but then...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
