I learned about Mackenzie Leather from Scotland journal in 2022. I immediately went to the website and designed my first bag -- a navy rucksack. It was stunning. I planned a trip to Edinburgh for June 2023. I checked into my hotel and headed to Mackenzie Leather. What a beautiful experience. I met Simon and the rest of the folks and had a lovely chat with them. Simon and I designed my second Mackenzie bag and I just received it. It, too, is stunning. The bags are made with loving care. These bags are made to be handed down from generation to generation. They are meant to be used and shown off. They are a perfect accessory for just about any occasion. The quality is beyond anything you will purchase in a department store. I encourage anyone who loves leather products to stop in and see Simon, Archie, and the rest of the artists! You won't regret it.

I went to visit their shop and made an order to be delivered in the US . I was thinking of buying a gucci bag from edinburgh but when I saw their handmade bags , I decided to get one instead and Oh boy !! I was delighted to see my bag customized according to my needs and the work that they put it surpass my gucci $ LV bags in a fraction of price ! I would definitely recommend them and will be back to order some more in the future ! The quality of the leather is very very nice and the gentleman in the store was ever accommodating to work with my complicated design but they did not disappoint.

Beautiful leather goods! The craftsmen were passionate about their work & so friendly. They were willing to do custom work to find exactly what you were looking for. We purchased a belt that they custom fit, which they mentioned they do with everyone! Definitely will be back & will order from them online as well. 10/10 recommend when you’re in edinburgh.

We visited the shop in Edinburgh last year when we went for a couple of days to Scotland. Few months later we placed an order for a book bag and a belt which were shipped to the US. The products are lovely and the guys offered great service. We highly recommend them!

We traveled to Edinburgh for the first time last October. Prior to the trip, I did a search on the internet for “unique souvenir from Edinburgh” to better focus my shopping experience. Mackenzie Leather shop popped up. So once in Edinburgh, we stopped in the shop and the rest is history! The awesome smell of leather drew us in and within minutes I was designing my custom made handbag! Top notch customer service, materials, design and hand made craftsmanship all in one store! The adjustable strap of the bag was specially measured and eventually made to fit my height and requests. My custom handbag was ordered arrived back home in the exact time frame promised. I love the bag and the shop! Simon and Archie are wonderful to work with. Highly recommend treating yourself to a special Scottish leather item from Mackenzie….you won’t regret it! 😁

How lucky am I that I got the end of St. Mary's and discovered a street filled with quality artisans. I was drawn into Mackenzie leather by the beautiful window display that was understated and but vibrated quality. I went in and had a look around but I left without buying anything. I came back the next day to buy a wallet for my husband. I came back the day after that to order a handbag for myself. It arrived much faster than I'd anticipated and it is more elegant than I could have imaged. I know I will have this handbag for life. It's made so well and not a detail was missed. Not a flaw to be found. I love it. Thank you. I am a happy customer.

I was looking for a bag & not looking for anything special till I walked into this shop. Found 1 that suited what I need and all handmade something that will use time and time again. They even went out of way to make & give me a luggage tag as left mine all at home.

Just had an awesome buying and design experience with Andrew. Went in to buy a belt and saw the Rucksack handbag and decided it was a must have. Andrew worked with me to do a custom bag of rich red leather with black trim. He was happy to answer my many questions. The craftsmanship is beautiful and so much better than what I’ve seen on high-end handbags in a long time. I can’t wait to see the finished product and I am very happy that they are willing to ship anywhere.

I stopped in the shop on a whim while looking for a nice gift! The staff were incredibly helpful and added initials to the product I bought. Everything in the shop seemed of very high quality, and I received an excellent recommendation on where to get some quality woolen goods among the mass of tourist trap shops in the area.
