Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide was very knowledgable and kept our interest throughout. I liked the corny Shhhw...wan Connery Jokes. I thought the emphasis on Punk was a little over long. Having been on the Glasgow Music Tour and because I also think Edinburgh...More

Hi Rob4Roy, thank you for coming on the tour and taking the time to leave a review. I'm sorry you thought the post-punk section was too long. We try to cover as many bands, genres and eras as possible. Getting the balance right for everyone...More

My Saturday was divided between the Ripitup exhibition and the Edinburgh Music Tour. The music tour was clearly the most surprising in a positive way. Fiona knows what she is talking about and does that in a great way. She encouraged the participants to share...More

Many thanks for such a great review, KRM_fun. We like the tours to be a shared experience rather than a lecture on legs. One of the best parts of doing the tours is hearing other people's stories. So glad you enjoyed it and I'll make...More

Somehow this review ended up on the Glasgow page but it applies to Edinburgh. The tour is a great way to acquaint locals and visitors alike to the wealth of music malarkey that’s gone on in the city. Sharp, informed commentary and anecdotal snippets are...More

Thanks lhnbt, much appreciated. Musical malarkey sounds about right and we're glad you enjoyed the tour and found it informed. And yes, discounted tickets for the Rip It Up exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland are very much part of the tour package. Thanks...More

Can highly recommend this tour as Fiona kept us entertained and interested with tales and snippets from all areas of Edinburgh’s music scene, past and present. This was despite a torrential downpour! 10 out of 10, so glad we went ahead!

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
