Neighbourhood: New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.

Fantastic experience for any gin lover
Mar 2020
We had such a fun time making our own gin at Sip Antics before lockdown. The session was really interesting and informative. Gary talked us through the various options in terms of style and character of gin that we could make, and let us loose with the botanicals, all the while giving tasters and mixing us drinks. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in gin, or even just those who enjoy drinking it - a super fun afternoon.

Great learning how to make gin
Jan 2020
Visited this experience a few weeks ago, the day started at midday with a very warm welcome from Gary our host, he explained how the afternoon would unfold with a G + T on arrival. We then tasted gins to help us decide on a flavour profile and got to work deciding on our recipes. Once decided we started distilling, it only takes half hour for a bottle. Gary made us a lovely cocktail while we waited for our bottle to distill. We then tasted our creation before, bottling, labelling, naming and finally wax sealing our gin. Overall I cannot recommend this experience highly enough, if I could give it more stars I would. There were 6 of us in the class, which is full but Gary has a knack of making you feel very at ease. You can tell with his knowledge and stories he is very passionate about his craft. We all got to know each other as the class went on and even had drinks upstairs in the bar after as we all got on so well. Novice or not in the gin drinking world, this class is very informative and great value for money.

Fun and interesting experience.

Me and my girlfriend were gifted with the sip antics experience from friends, being massive gin fans. We had so much fun in getting to pick our botanicals and create our own gin to take home. Gary was a great host, greatly knowledgable and happy to answer all of our questions. Great experience will recommend.

Gin class and reordering
Jan 2020
I attended the Sip Antics gin class couple months ago. It was a fantastic experience. Gary is incredibly knowledgable and passionate. We learned about the distillation process, the ingredients, different types of gin and many more! I came out of the class with a lovely bottle of gin (we get to choose our own ingredients!). After I finished my bottle in London, I got in touch with Gary for reordering the EXACT SAME for a friend, and he was kind enough to distill it over the weekend and I got it within couple days!! Overall, this is an amazing class with a lot to get out. Highly recommend it to gin lovers and those who wants to learn more about it!! : )

educational and fun
Dec 2019
We went along as a post-christmas family outing and have a great visit. 2 gin lovers, 2 not sure - ended up with 4 loving the gin we distilled while there. Gary was really helpful, very knowledgeable and helped make it a fun and novel way to send an afternoon. Cumberland is a good venue, very central, good food after our session.
Thanks Gary

Gin Experience
Dec 2019
I attended the Sipantics new gin tasting session last week where I had a great time learning from Gary who was very informative about not only Scottish Gins, but also his self-made gins which you get to try a selection of during the class. His self-made gins were delicious, the pink gin was a personal favourite, and it was brilliant to see how gin was made from the bespoke small copper stills which are displayed and used during the class. You get to make your own bottle of gin which you can take away at the end which tops off the full experience!

It is great to see a small distillery concentrating on experiences and providing a brilliant and fun class. Gary was a great host and made the class so enjoyable and would be suitable for any age group! Would highly recommend!!

Gin Tastings and Making!
Nov 2019 • Friends
I went to Sip Antics last week with a group of friends to take part in making my own bottle of gin. We were lucky enough to get to try part of Gary's new tasting session where we had tasters of gins from the main 5 categories that Gary had created and distilled by himself on his own stills! With each we got a lot of information about all the ingredients and how they generally work together. An amazing part of the tour was the environment, about a hundred bottles of Scottish gin surrounded us that Gary had broken down into they're flavour categories!

When it came to making our own bottle Gary let us try another two of his gins from list of 20 that had some really interesting flavours (this really helped in choosing what went into my own bottle).

All in all a great experience, lovely setting and an extremely informative friendly host! Will definitely be recommending this to my friends and fam!

Gin Experience
Dec 2019
I recently attended the new gin tasting session where I had a wonderful time learning about all about gins that Gary has been working so hard to make, they were also very delicious :) . Gary then showed us how to make our own which was so informative and very enjoyable!! I really appreciated how interactive and intimate the class was as it allowed for optimum time to ask questions and learn more about gin! I thought it was a really good fun touch to have a chance to make your own gin as well added your own favourite botanicals! Can not recommend highly enough as it was so enjoyable and such a great experience!! Thanks Gary.

Amazing Gin Tasting Experience. MUST try
Nov 2019
My friend and I had such a good time at Gary's new gin tasting session, we got a gin and tonic on arrival and then got to taste a large selection of gins of different categories (which meant there was something for everyone) that Gary makes himself, with his own recipes on bespoke copper stills! At the end you even get to choose between loads of different gins he's made as a wee extra. I tasted the chilli chocolate orange gin, as well as the raspberry and ginger one. They were both fab!! All the gins we tasted were Gary's, but all around the room were lots of other scottish gins on display, and Gary would answer any questions we had about them. Gary was so informative and friendly and made the whole experience so much more enjoyable, and it felt so much more personal as it was a nice small group in a small distillery that is there to provide a fun experience rather than just make money! Overall it was a fantastic experience and I would love to come back again and try the other experiences such as the one where i can make my own gin and take it away with me at the Sip Antics Gin School!! Thanks Gary, would 100% recommend.
