Been to the Bow Bar many times. Range of whiskies is fantastic and beers are just great. Completely spoiled during last threevisits by surly, rude bar staff. Too busy high fiving each other and sharing little giggly private jokes. Old American chap yesterday accidentally spilled...More

Good pub with old wooden benches, friendly bar staff and good choice of beers and whiskeys (of course) Trying to find it was a bit of a challenge but well worth it once there.

This bar reminds me of a Dutch bar. There are dozens of bottled beers on sale - not cheap - and they're all chalked up on a blackboard on the wall. Several draught beers and malts are listed too. Not Guinness. This is an independent...More

The Bow Bar is a friendly drinkers pub. It feels right and doesn't seem to attract the low life that some bars attract. That may well be because it isn't cheap. There is a good range of beers and whiskies and interesting photos and signs...More

Hard to find seating but the bar has a great atmosphere! Beers are more reasonably priced and the staff is very friendly. Worth a visit!

Always dreamed of going to Edinburgh. The image in my head of the quintessential Scottish pub was realized when I stepped into Bow Bar. This is a must if you head to Edinburgh.

Friendly, charming, traditional pub and packed with all the whiskies you could want! Nice local atmosphere despite being nestled in the Royal Mile

Popped in to have a Scottish brew and was blown away by the Scotch selection, was a Saturday afternoon and the place was fairly crowded, all tables occupied. Bar staff was well versed and friendly. Appeared to be a lot of locals in as well.

We popped into this bar because it’s opposite a very fine teapot shop, and after scouring Edinburgh for a stainless steel teapot with basket, we needed a drink! There was a beer festival on, and we sampled a range of beers, pale ale to dark...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

Hi Patrick. Not to my knowledge. The Bow Bar has been running since 1987 so I doubt another 'Bow Bar' was on the street.
