Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had good fish and chips and mussels and the traditional salmon pie. We didn't have a reservation but they were kind to receive 3 people. Looked like a very local pub to eat fish and seafood.

Had a lovely evening and meal here. We have been for drinks before and enjoy the ambience. Nice mix of locals and tourists. Fun bar man behind the bar. Two attentive waitresses in the restaurant. The food was lovely. We had oysters beautifully cooked with a crunchy garlic topping, fish and chips and a beautiful sea bass dish. £75 for the food, wine and pre dinner drink. Would definitely be back.

Had read the reviews and was looking forward to exploring Leith- very limited menu. Table was before 6pm but fish of day finished. Chose only actual fish dish - battered haddock - extremely greasy, batter heavy.
Desert rhubarb crumble panacotta- rhubarb so uncooked unable to cut. Young staff pleasant but certain member very abrupt and unable to even finish any request. Wish we had stayed at Fischers.

Have visited a couple of times before and enjoyed the ambience of the bar. Very welcoming, good Covid security. Huge portion of really meaty mussels as a starter, fish pie was really tasty, good value wines plus the government £20 contribution via "eat out to help out". All in all a very enjoyable experience

1 fish & chips & 1 scallops - both great examples of their genre. And a bottle of Meursault ditto...surprising how it goes with the batter by the way! An informal, relaxed but well organised set-up, the ambience is easy, pleasant and secure. Food wine and service all very good.

The Shore Bar is on the waterside in Leith. Our annual visits to Edinburgh in the Spring always include a walk down the Water of Leith Path to lunch there on Sunday afternoon. The food is good, the surroundings perfect for lovers of the traditional pub and the atmosphere and service very good but most people go at this time for the excellent piano and bass duo playing jazz. Brian Kellock is a fine inventive pianist and has a great partnership with Kenny Ellis on bass. There’s also jazz on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The bar is right next to the Fishers restaurant and owned by the Fishers Group.so the food is not cheap but very good.

I went and had the Ham Hash and the Fish of the Day. It was one of the tastiest meals that I have ever had. I will certainly go back there again should the opportunity arise.

In such a beautiful location, one is always worried that pubs/resturants such as The Shore will be geared too much towards tourists. Fortunately, it seemed very authentic. We had mussels and some excellent local beer

The Shore Bar and restaurant has been in Leith along time. When we lived in Leith it was one of our favourite places to go to eat or have a drink. We had not been for about 10 years but it was everybit as good as we remembered. They have a fish of the day. On our visit it was hake.It was excellent. The risotto starter was also very good.
Overall great ambience good service and great food. It is not cheap but good value for the quality.

Arrived Sunday around 2 ish fabulous jazz duo on 2-5 with third member joining half way though. Great chilled experience - beers the cheapest we had had in Edinburgh! Professional barman! Too full to try food but all we saw coming out looked fab. Loved an afternoon here - bit off the beaten track- so worth it!
