The layout of the garden area was well designed and exceeded my expectations. I was impressed by the champion trees, the enormous hedge, the student gardens, but most of all the rock garden. I hope to return, because it is a gem. The greenhouses were...More

Very beautiful grounds, very nice vegetable garden with tasty berries, all very calm. Lovely glass houses. We spent a few very agreable hours with the kids. A to do in Edinburgh.

These gardens are a treat and a peaceful place to escape the city Buzz. Perfect for kids to let off steam or oldies to sit and watch the squirrels and birds.

Unfortunately, two of the three glasshouses were closed when we visited, so the price had been discounted. The grounds are well-kept and labeled with care; the range of plants is amazing. We enjoyed a delicious lunch in the restaurant, where the greens and vegetables are...More

Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling
a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s
small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s
first hip neighbourhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s
most desirable, though many bohemian touches have
fallen away as its residents have matured and the area
has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but
