People in character costume of an era gone by taking you down into the Underground City that was. Tom (who was exceptionally informative) certainly knew his stuff, however his strong Scottish accent could be lost on those trying to understand what he is saying. I'm...More

Interesting lesson in Edinburgh’s history and worth a visit, would have been nice to have been able to have a look round some of the other streets and rooms as I got the feeling there was more to see than was actually on the guided...More

Our guide Tom was great, he was informative and funny and kept everyone interested throughout the whole of the tour. The tour itself was interesting, I expected to see more of the streets below rather than the actual rooms in the houses and only the...More

I’m glad we decided to go on this tour. We booked direct through them. There are a few tour operators but this is the real deal. The women that conducted the tour was very knowledgable and had lots of fun facts along with the serious...More

Was not on my list and friends told us about it at last minute. The castle was closed two days in a row due to wind. This was very informative about life years ago in Edinburgh. Even 28 year old loved it

Short but sweet. It was good fun and fairly informative. The guide was a good laugh too. A good way to fill in 1 hour of your day in Edinburgh and something to tick off your list as a tourist.

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly

that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

No photography allowed - something to do with it being under a government building. They do take a souvenir photo at the end though which you can buy from the shop.
