Great family day out, plenty to do and see! Very reasonable price too for what you get, definitely one of the best zoo's in the UK along with Chester Zoo and South Lakes Sarfari Park!

Was fab to see Pandas, when this may be the only time in our lifetimes to do so. This was the highlight of the visit. I was saddened at the feel of the zoo, which felt a bit unloved in some places with signage having fallen away and not replaced, it felt like it needed a good spruce up and... More

Firstly there is lot of walking around which me and my partner didn't mind, but some people might. Prices are reasonable, and the the tiger area is grrrreat! but apart from that I felt like an excited child when I was there it was great fun! Go for it you won't be disappointed.

When we went it was very quiet as it was a weekday. Lots of interesting animals. Unfortunately no penguin parade as they did not feel like coming out that day. If you so visit, be prepared for a lot of walking up some steep hill. Recommend arriving early to get everything in before the penguin parade (should it happen) in... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Our weekdays are quieter at this time of year and we do recommend visiting on these days if you like more freedom to see the animals at your own leisure. The Penguin Parade is completely voluntary on the part of the penguins and this does mean on rare occasions... More

We went on one of the coldest days even the penguins weren't happy! It was good and if it was warmer more animals would be out, but we still got to see them because you can see where they sleep to. I was a bit disappointed with the lack of food facilities open. We looked for somewhere to eat about... More

Thank you very much for your feedback. We do experience some cold Scottish winter days here but I'm glad you got to make use of the indoor viewing areas to see our animals. I will pass on your feedback to our catering team, our on site Grasslands Restaurant serves food until 15:30 and hot drinks until 16:00 but I'm sorry... More

A lovely cold day at the zoo Unfortunately we went to the zoo on a very cold day so many of the animals were hidden away especially the giant panda Stunning views of Edinburgh at the top of the hill I wouldn't recommend this zoo to anyone who struggles with mobility due to the zoo being on a hill Great... Thank you for your review. Unfortunately we do encounter some cold temperatures being in a rather exposed location however where possible we do have indoor viewing areas so that you can see the animals in a warmer environment. The views from the top of Corstorphine Hill are certainly worth the climb even on a cold day and we do have... More

We visited this zoo about 6 years ago in June on a beautiful day and it was great. This visit was a very cold November day and we didn't see many animals, not that I blame them given the temperature. A very quick visit. We did enjoy the view from the top of the park.

It's a nice zoo, and the food there was pretty good too. Quite a bit of walking, be prepared for that. The big draw was the penguins! At certain times, they let them out, they march across the walkway and go back in. SOunds silly, but it was adorable! Why don't we do that here?

Thank you very much for your feedback. Edinburgh Zoo is set on 82 acres of sloping parkland home to over 1,000 rare and endangered animals, this can be quite a large area to walk around but we have many areas where you can rest and enjoy the view. We also have our dedicated mobility vehicle for those who require assistance... More

Visiting Edinburgh zoo was on our list of things too do whilst in Edinburgh for the weekend, the main reason was to see the Pandas. We arrived early 9ish and it was very quiet which is always nice, cold too so we thought about picking up a coffee, unfortunately we couldn't find a cafe that was open at that time.... More

Hi there, Many thanks for your review and I’m very glad you enjoyed your visit. I apologise that you were unable to purchase coffee in the morning, our Penguins Café is normally open from 9am but unfortunately it has been under refurbishment recently. Thank you for the kind words regarding our presentations and I will be sure to pass them... More
