Have been here a handful of times over some years, usually for 'niche' artists (Guy Clark, Kris Kristofferson, & last Sunday Nils Lofgren). Hadn't realised you could review the actual venue till I looked just now. Cracking venue, though the 'pew' seating could use some...More

Thank you so much for your kind review Carolyn. Really appreciate your words and support and glad you enjoyed Nils on Sunday - he was fantastic wasn't he?! We're raising money to update the seat cushions, so hopefully our pews will be a bit more...More

We saw Scottish Chamber Orchestra here and it was a great pleasure. The concert hall is beautiful, historic, atmospheric as well as comfortable (long seats with cushions) and sufficiently well lit to enable programme notes to be read. The processes of collecting tickets, buying drinks,...More

2nd visit (in fact same show) last was some 8 years ago so memories a little vague. We had seats at the side again which aren't that bad but you do have a restricted view due to pillars. But this is due to the building...More

There’s something quite appealing about The Queens Hall. Maybe it’s because it’s in an old church. Not like a church that’s had a massive refurbishment but a church that is no longer a church but still looks like one. It’s unlikely to play host to...More

Arrived to see King King and found the bar to serve Lager on which was very disappointing as I didn't get a beer for the gig. Good venue for a gig with standing down stairs However, upstairs seating has limited views in the side seats...More

Went to Queen’s Hall for a music gig, this time main area was standing though I have previously attended an all seated event. Standing seems to give more of an atmosphere and the hall is not short of that. The sound quality and acoustics are...More

Traditional concert hall with unusual woodwork and stained glass. Ideal circumstance for classical chamber music.

I attended a comedy performance as part of the fringe. We had balcony seats, these were incredibly hot and stuffy by the end of the performance. The view from the rear of the balcony is also not ideal

Strangely, although we have visited the Edinburgh Festival over a number of years, this was our first visit to the Queen's Hall. A warm, welcoming building with excellent acoustics, clearly displaying it's origin as a Chapel. Very good sightlines to the raised stage and a...More

Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around
university buildings in Southside, the sort of
neighbourhood that supports a long string of
second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for
just a few pounds. In August the student population is
replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here
for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and
arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking
