The area
Address
Neighbourhood: West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.

Dream boys Edinburgh very disappointing
Apr 2019 • Friends
I recently experienced the dream boys in edinburgh with a hen party. I would not reccomend this for anyone to go it was very poorly organised. When we arrived we had time to eat the 'premium buffet'. I have no words to describe it it was disgusting. It was some cocktail sausages and wedges and sandwiches which tasted like they came out of a freezer. One word of advise for anyone going eat before hand as u would get sick eating their buffet. Onto the show we were shown to our seats... Another disaster we were giving a row of seats that had no room to even sit on. We were like a bag of sardines squashed together. Definitely over booked or else trying to make more money by squashing everyone together. The show itself was ok but it was more like a drag show than a strip show. The best part of this was the nightclub after it upstairs. It had really good music and the set up was brilliant. This is definitely not worth the money and i wish i had known this prior to booking it. I hope they organisers of this rethink the plans and put the customers before their pockets in future.

We went here because there was a Tequila festival on and we had a voucher for it. At the door we bought a ticket which cost £20 and this allowed us to get several drinks, the bar staff stamped your card however because it was a tequila festival drink selection was limited to mostly tequila and Amigos, although every now and again there was free shots available and if you went upstairs you could get a Bacardi and coke. The music was very loud but adding to the music was a mariachi band which were awesome. Great atmosphere with the crowd joining in all night.

Show was great. Dancers were considerate and lots of fun, wasn't quite Magic Mike as no group dancing but otherwise great!

Hen party
Jun 2017
Where to start.. The venue was under construction, sat around tiny floor area for the "acts".. Ladies toilets were out of order and the smell from the men's genuinely made people gag.. We wer instructed to use the gents.. Watered down free cocktail.. The food was a disgrace cheap cold seemed like left overs from another event.. The show itself was actual a good crack, we had an idea what we had signed up for.. However some of the acts did take it a bit far!! Think it is very over priced for the state the venue is in and feel you should be told it is under construction and be offered cheaper rates.. Drag act was my favourite part.. The dream boys fighting with management outside after the show really didn't look good..

Dreamboys disaster ..... avoid!
Mar 2017 • Friends
Well where do I start . 21 of us ladies paid £40 per ticket to see the "dream boys" last night ..... what an absolute disgrace. From the start when I came to the door I was told that we were not "on the list" despite having paid for the "premium silver package". Only 12 of us arrived due to last min cancellations. We had paid for 21 seats but were squeezed onto two rows (11 seats) with an extra chair at the side. This was appalling as it's obvious our seats were re sold ....

The buffet has hard cheap sandwiches and sausages on a stick! Hardly a premium package Buffett! Everyone had their hands on the food!!! A lot of the other "women" there were heavily Intoxicated but still served alcohol, flashing pants and falling over out party sitting in our seats! Lots of drinks spilled all over the floor causing people to slip over , drunk women throwing themselves about. Cheap cocktails batch made sex on the beach (disgusting) in scratched plastic tumblers... no other option!!! The toilets flooded so was told we couldn't use the toilets upstairs so use the disabled ones. The sanitary bins were full of used continuance products lying around. It was absolutely revolting and not worth £40. The dream boys were on for 5 mins each and only three of them! Humiliating women and wearing old tatty trainers and boxers! The general manager apologies and offered us a booth upstairs but due to our horrendous experience and fears for personal safety due to the clientele , we left. NOTHING was done to enhance our experience at the time and our seats were obviously re sold. It was absolutely appalling. I will be taking this complaint further as we paid over £800 as a party for the worst experience in a night club in my entire life. We travelled from the midlands and rally wish we hadn't bothered! Revolting! If you've any class or self respect you certainly would not go to this venue for this event!

I took a few service users and they really enjoyed it I'm a bit concerned that we weren't asked for ID as carers which may leave vulnerable adults at risk of exploitation.
The club is fairly run down it could do with new flooring and the toilets are disgusting along with the smell from them. What used to be my regular club really disappointed me to see so run down

Disgusting

We went to this as a laugh for my friends hen party thinking it would be similar to what is on the dream boys website.. So dancers on stage etc.
What we got was horrendous... The three 'dreamboys' who were supposed to be performing made the spectacle out of the women who were dragged up not themselves... We were all under the impression that it would be the dreamboys who we would be watching not women being thrown around, having their knickers flashed and being made to lick cream of old top shop boxers. It was embarassing and to be honest made me feel sick. They did not have any skill in performance, the outfits were more just cheap looking joggers which they couldn't even take off without holding on to the DJ booth.
The free cocktail was just juice in a dirty cup and there were people walking out during the performance being terrified that they would be picked on next. One of the girls in our group was pulled up and was in tears after because she hadn't thought they would touch her but just dance around and she had her head pushed under one of the men's skirt whist he pretended to shag it.. He bent her over the chair and lifted her dress to the whole audience. Pretty sure this would not be legal and definitely false advertising.

The drag act was ok but we had not paid to see a drag act.

Recently had a nice out here. The club it's self was fine and appeared clean. Drinks were reasonably priced. Only down side was a very strong smell of urine coming from the ladies toilets.

Not so dreamy 'Dreamboys'
Jun 2016 • Friends
I don't usually write reviews but I had such a terrible experience at the Dreamboys show at Cav Bar in Edinburgh that I felt compelled to write something. I would give this show negative stars if I could. I agree with the other reviews in that the venue stinks, the cocktails were like Ribena and we didn't see a buffet.

I also have a complaint about the Dreamboys themselves though. The dreamboy in question was called the Adonis and he picked me up twice and threw me around like a rag doll. I'm very petite and I'm guessing this is why he picked me but he was extremely rough with me and I ended up with a bruised nose and bruised ribs. He also managed to break my shoe and I lost my earring.

I definitely won't be returning and I recommend that others avoid this place at all costs. Absolute rubbish.

Awful, awful, awful

This place ticks every cliche - stinks of smelly feet, your shoes literally stick to the carpet, the free 'cocktail' is watered down rubbish. The acts are poor. Cheap, nasty & tacky. Don't waste your money 😠
