We had an excellent tour that was a perfect way to begin our trip and time in Scotland. Elspeth was fantastic and paced it to what we needed and wanted...thanks!!

My 21 yr old son and I toured with Elspeth. She was able to keep us both very interested throughout the day. We meet at 9 am and finished our tour 4 pm. We saw old town and new town and had lunch at the Amber Room. She made us feel like we were family on vacation. I would definitely hire her again when I bring my husband. We definitely saw more then the average tourist and understood what we were seeing.

It was such a pleasure showing you and Andrew the interesting and characterful places in the Old and New Towns. I really enjoyed our time together exploring the city. Elspeth was an engaging and in depth guide. She immediately made us feel at home and discerned our interests. She tailored our tour to us and provided an entertaining and educational tour. She went above and beyond which we appreciated. We’d highly recommend her for a personal or large group tour.

Elspeth gave us a wonderful 4 hour walking tour that included Old Town, New Town, and the Castle . (FYI private guides like Elspeth can't actually walk you through the different buildings within the Castle; Elspeth made sure we knew the layout and history of the place, and what we would be looking at when we meandered around the Castle property on our own). She was well prepared and able to answer all of our questions. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Elspeth provided so many tidbits of information, not only about Edinburgh, but Scotland in general.
This is a great introduction to the city and if you have more time helps you figure out where you might want to do some addition exploration on your own.
I highly recommend Elspeth for your tour of Edinburgh.

I really enjoyed our time together on your walking tour and I’m delighted you liked it and found it informative. Thank you for writing such lovely comments, which I very much appreciate. It was so nice to help the 3 of you discover Edinburgh’s Old and New Towns and the castle as well. I have a sunny photo of us all in front of St Margaret’s Chapel as a happy personal souvenir!

Elspeth is very easy to talk to, incredibly knowledgeable and very accommodating. As we did our private walking tour (Calton Hill, Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle and various significant points of interest along the way) Elspeth took us back in time and filled our minds with bewildering history sprinkled with lots of tidbits that brought everything to life. Her love of her own Scottish culture and history was clear and enriched the experience even more. An Outlander tour was not on our list but when I asked, Elspeth easily managed to add in a few highlights along the way. To sum up, if you want the most out of your trip to Edinburgh then make sure to book a tour with Elspeth.

We met Elspeth at the hotel and immediately we were learning the history and geography of Edinburgh. She is very personable and really understands what is needed to immerse into the history in order to learn and relate to what times were really like for all in Edinburgh. Highly recommend Elspeth !!!

Elspeth met us at our hotel and took us on a private walking tour of Edinburgh and the Edenburgh Castle. She was very informative and you could tell she loved the city and knew it and its history in every detail. Since Elspeth knew the city so well she guided the walk with ease for us. My husband and I found Elspeth very easy to talk to and highly recommend her! We loved hearing the history of the castle and appreciated the useful tips Elspeth gave us about viewing the various rooms and objects in each space. Our time was used to the fullest because we were guided as to when to go in to see the Crown Jewels and a tp to look for the room where Mary Queen of Scots gave birth to her only child. Our tour with Elspeth was a wonderful way to start our trip!

This tour was fascinating and very enjoyable. I learned so much about the history of Edinburgh, which gave me an insightful understanding of how the specific areas of the city had come to be, all interwoven through the stories featured in the Outlander books and TV series, which I’m a big fan of. Elspeth is a great guide and very kind friendly person, who seemed to be able to judge which facts and stories were appealing to us. I’m amazed how much information she must carry around in her head! I would thoroughly recommend this tour, I think it would even be engaging to someone who wasn’t a particular Outlander fan!

Elspeth is the perfect tour guide! Passionate, knowledgeable, fun - this tour was packed insight into the hit show, I do a lot of tours whilst traveling and was genuinely blown away by Elspeth’s Outlander one, it was a stand-out! 🏴
As a fan of the show I LOVED how much info I leaned of the time period, Elspeth pointed out clues and secrets I never would have noticed which gave me a deeper understanding of the period, the show and Edinburgh’s beauty 👌🏻.
