As a solo traveller I booked this tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not having more than 10 people per tour gives this a more personal touch. Stuart delivers his historical facts and fascinating stories in a non-hurried and sometimes humerous way making sure everyone can...More

There were only five of us in the group and Richard remembered all our names within ten minutes of the Tour starting. The pace was just right, not tiring at all, and we thoroughly enjoyed the stories and anecdotes Richard related about the landmarks we...More

What a wonderful way to orientate yourself around this magical city and learn of its deep, rich history. Richard was incredibly engaging, knowledgeable and so personable, (remembering everyone’s names). His sarcasm and quick wittedness was gold. Highly recommend this small scale, very manageable walk.

Despite torrential rain our three hour walking tour was fantastic. Stuart took us to places most tourists would miss. He also gave us hints of things we could do ourselves. If you only do one walking tour this is the one to do.

West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in
industrial Britain had their most desirable
neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes.
Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest
citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind
grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel
crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and
sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along
