Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I booked this 4 hour walking tour with Bill Hill, and had so much fun we invited him to join us for lunch! He is knowledgeable, kept us entertained with interesting stories, and recommended some favorite restaurants and shops. The time just flew by! Well worth booking!!

Bill is not a normal tour guide. He knows his city probably like no other and shows it with a lot of charisma, heart, humour and knowledge. The richness of his experience is impressive. If you want to get a real feel for the city, spend time with Bill.

4 hours walking with Bill across Edinburg was a great experience. Seeing the details what you’ll never see and listening to Bill who is a real expert was just fun.
A clear recommendation
Thank you Bill

Bill Hill is an expert on Edinburgh. This time I joined my 4 German friends on a 4 hour walking tour of old Edinburgh. I learned more interesting facts about this beautiful city, and saw parts of Edinburgh I hadn't seen before. A guided tour is a great use of time, and far better than walking aimlessly around Edinburgh.

An amazing historic city was brought to life for us by our wonderful guide Bill Hill. We were blown away by the knowledge and passion this man has for his beloved city. We were told about the men & women that shaped the city down through the years, the topography of the land, the famous "bridges", the closes, how the architecture was influenced by so many historical figures and not to forget the kirkyards and the significance they hold. We also had the pleasure of listening to some beautiful verses from a few of the many songs in Bill's repertoire. A fantastic tour made even more special by being in Bill's presence. We fell in love with Edinburgh and can't wait to come back.

If I could give a beyond excellent rating I would ! We have worked with Cameron 3 times now (3 trips to beautiful Scotland). Each time he has been on point with what we wanted to see/do and he has become a valued friend in the process.
His sense of humor, quick wit, deep knowledge and love of his Country, along with his beautiful singing voice all come together to provide more than a tour - its an experience!
This last trip we wanted to see a bit more of Edingurgh than the Royal Mile and tourist venues. We walked around the Waters of Leith and through a few local parks and festivals and farmers markets that we would never have seen with a tour book. Just a fabulous day topped off by a visit to a local Scots Guard Club where he joined in singing songs with the local group playing there. What fun!
Highly recommend seeing if you can book him. Plan ahead because not only does he do this but he is part of the Sound Team at this years Tattoo as well.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to spend a morning by ourselves with Cameron on his Wet Or Dry Art and Architecture Tour. Right off the bat we were impressed that the tour was even held for only two people, then we were even more impressed by Cammy's thoroughness, knowledge, and humor. With anecdotes and insights of people and places and his love of Rabbie Burns, he put together a fascinating narrative of Scottish history. Every place we visited was a revelation. We are thankful for this wonderful introduction to Edinburgh and Scotland and would highly recommend the tour.

Cammy is the best! Knowledgeable, funny, and extremely helpful. He drove us all over Scotland, sang songs in his beautiful baritone, and made great recommendations for dining and shopping. He enriched our Scotland experience tremendously. He gets my highest recommendation!

I cannot say enough about how amazing Cammy is! From the time we booked in 2018 to the time we were finally able to travel, Cammy had presented us with several iterations of our two days together. I can truly say, the real thing exceeded anything we could have imagined. Cammy has traveled the world with the military and performed for kings and queens, He is an expert on Robert Burns. Everywhere we went people recognized him and hugged him hello. We were treated to a VIP 21 Gun Salute at Stirling Castle, a concert, several poetry readings, and a very moving song at the Banacockburn Memorial. Cammy has the ability to take you back in time and share the stories, the people, and moments of history that bring Scotland to life. And when life threw out curveballs, like a castle being closed for a wedding, Cammy had a plan. We saw so much more than we expected or had hoped. Stirling Castle, Melrose Abbey, Scott's View, Culzean Castle, Rosslyn Chapel, Lochs, and Mountains. He also chose two amazing lunch places.

SO I would like to give my highest praise to Cammy. When we come back to Scotland, we will be engaging Cammy as our guide. So the question is not whether or not to book a tour, but when!
