Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a really great tour with Finn. We booked the City Centre, Holyrood Park, Portobello Guided Tour. He was very attentive to make sure we had time to rest, ask questions and look around at our various stops along the way. We highly recommend this bike tour to see so much of what the city has to offer, history, coastline, etc in a very efficient and green way.

We loved our ride with David! The pace was very comfortable and he changed the route a bit to accommodate the windy weather we had. It was great getting away from the center of the city and seeing the coast and bridges in the distance. Cramond was a quaint area and we loved seeing the old mill, river and coast. We appreciated his recommendations and directions once we were done with the tour.

This was a great trip. The guide, Sam, was terrific. The bikes were in excellent shape. We did the beyond Edinborough tour. Well paced with appropriate rests. Rode through forested paths, through Newtown, up around Arthur's seat, then to the beach at Portobella for lunch. All in all a wonderful excursion and a great way to see the area. Good thing to do early in a visit to get oriented and plan what to see.

City Centre, Holyrood House, Portobello tour Great tour, highlights of City Centre area but also gave us an opportunity leave the hustle and bustle of tourists for a little while. Portobello Beach was a nice surprise - long and sandy. Mostly on trails, a few hills, but well planned to avoid long climbs. David was knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful with lots of suggestions and tips for post tour activities. Bikes were well maintained. Enjoyed have a small group. Start/end ocation a little outside city center but easily accessed by tram. Great tour!

We booked this tour yesterday evening because our 7 year old wanted more than anything yo do a bike tour in Edinburgh. This seemed like a reputable and responsible operator and we received an immediate online order confirmation and an email that assured us “When you have booked and paid please consider your tour confirmed unless you hear otherwise.”
Well it turns out that’s not the case. We built our day around this and showed up 20 minutes before the tour. We waited and waited and waited. 10 minutes before we tried to call the operator. No one answered. We called over and over again and no one answered. We emailed and then finally we got an answer 15 minutes after the scheduled start time with a completely inadequate: “ Sorry our online system messed up. We’re happy to give you a refund.”
Now I’m left with a kid in tears and a wasted morning on our short trip to Edinburgh. Could be more disappointed in this operator.

Our tour guide David was an absolute pleasure. He explained everything that we would experience and it was accurate and informative. The beginning had a bit of a hill climb but very manageable even for relatively healthy people who bike seldomly. We saw beautiful scenery of both landscape and historic significance. The winding streets, parks, and seaside paths were amazing. David made the ride even better with his conversation and thoughtful breaks.

Awesome tour of Edinburgh. You will cover a lot of ground. Our tour guide was very patient with us even though we were a bit behind hime for a good amount of the trip. Most of the ride is on trails, some on the city streets, but felt safe. It’s a super beautiful ride, but believe them when they say you should be moderately fit at least. Company has a lot of bikes to choose from so there’s something for everyone.

Finn was outstanding. He communicated the route, turns, hills, traffic and historical factoids. I enjoyed his discussions about Scotland’s history, politics and climate.
A keeper. A true ombudsman for Scotland.

We took the family friendly tour, which was excellent for our 8 and 11 year old. Did lots of biking on a variety of paths. Our guide, Finn, was excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable. We saw many new parts of Edinburgh and Leith learned a ton about this beautiful city.

The bikes were great, the leader was excellent. I would have liked to have seen our route on a map and a few more opportunities to take photos. Otherwise a really great way to spend a morning and to see more of Edinburgh . Thanks.

Hello, it is a 5 hour tour - good for regular cyclists. It is taken at a gentle place.
There are a couple of hills, short but steep.

Hi! We 4 arrive Edinburgh Airport 8 am from the US August 22 Wednesday. If we find our way to you for a guided tour or self-tour that morning could we stash our bags at your shop? We can’t get into our rental til 11:30 on Rose near Princess and thought it best to do something active so we can stay awake all day and got on Edinburgh time. Thanks, Mona, Beth, Sara and Dara

Hi we are a family of four and would like to know what attractions we will see and how many miles for the full day tour? We are very fit and in shape! How much does it cost and how do I book reservations for next July 2016? Do we get dropped off where you are located? What clothes are good in the summer to wear while riding? Thank you.

Hello and thanks for your questions. We have descriptions of our bike tours on our web site - there you can see the distances, sights, and points of interest and also on FAQ you can see what we recommend you wear. We have group departures daily of three different tours (from GBP 30 per person to GBP 45 per person) - or if you prefer then we can tailor make a tour to exactly suit your requirements (similar prices, depending on length). Scotland can be warm or cool in summer so it is best to keep an eye on the weather forecast and dress appropriately (cycle shorts, t-shirt, cycle gloves, rain coat are usually best) - we always run our tours regardless of the weather. Please email us at Edinburgh Bike Tours for further details.
Many thanks.
