Loved this pub. We only had a drink there. The atmosphere was great. The decoration is ancient and overcharged but I loved it. You don't know where to look at for there are so much items on every wall. The service was good. Worth visiting

Lovely pub but a let down when busy as only one ladies toilet and very cramped. Food overpriced-the scottish delight-fried Mars Bar was £9.95 and in Aberdeen you can have it for £4-full cooked breakfast didn't look at all apertising

Stumbled across this by mistake, and glad we did. Quaint little pub set behind Princes Street. We sat upstairs and my wife was introduced to Haggis. Great pub meals in a great atmosphere. Well worth a visit

We went in with some friends for a drink. It is a brilliant little bar with a nice atmosphere. The only thing that was somewhat annoying is space since there was not much space and we were lucky to get a table fairly quickly.

Had some drinks here with my boyfriend on Saturday night. We weren't in for food so we sat on some stools at the bar. The bar staff were really nice and asked us if we wanted to start a tab (which we did) and they were frequently asking us if we wanted additional drinks or anything else. The pub was... More

During the day even you go inside you will find candle lighting and very ancient type of atmo. I felt it good. There was smell inside ao I sat outside in sunshine and the place was good. Staff was helping and smiling. Food is generaly english one ao indians may not like ao much but taking beer during the day... More

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
