    Great place for everyone
Never been to this part of the outskirts of Edinburgh, but we were really impressed with the lovely clean beach and the variety of cafes, shops and restaurants. It was very busy with families etc enjoying the sun on the beach and in the sea. There is a promenade for you to walk and take in the sights

Good for a quick seaside visit
Took the no 26 bus and spent a couple of hours walking along the promenade and enjoying the sea breeze. There are three or four eateries along the walk mostly clustered near the northern end and a children’s play ground and a small area with rides. Probably fun for families but not much else to do truthfully for a solo traveller.

    Lovely Scottish sandy beach
Lovely beach with far reaching views. Great for dog walking swimming canoeing and making sandcastles. Lots of restaurants for food such as fish and chips and ice creams. If the weather is good you cannot bear this Scottish beach.

    City beach
When you think of Edinburgh you don’t think of it having a beach, but it does! Lovely promenade walk too. Didn’t fancy a dip as it was a cold day. Dogs looked insanely happy though. Went to the amusement arcade and won a couple of plastic toy dinosaurs from the 2p machine.

    A promenade, sand and sea
Most people who visit Edinburgh, come here for the castle and the shopping of Princess Street. For those staying a little longer, you want to come to Portobello. The area is located by the seaside. There is a long promenade along the beach. The beach is very sandy and the sea clean. There are Cafes and places to eat all along the front. You can get here by bus from the city centre or drive and park. For those seeking warmer waters there are two swimming pools. There is also the last Victorian Turkish bath house.

Clean beach, fun day for any doglover or travelling with kids. More local than the normal tourist hits. Good food, clear skyes and lots of sheashells to take home.

Gorgeous beach. Ideal for quiet walks although imagine can be busy during summer holidays. Free parking nearby. Several cafes along the front.

Meh! This beach is not very long at all and there's very few things to do here either. There are cafes and restraunts but there no where near the beach
So I think about half hour at this place and it's gets boring just seeing not very much at all. Oh! And watch out for dogs not on leads and there can be quite alot of them running up and down the beach looking for other dogs to h@mp =P.
