Booked this last minute and it was a great experience:) The view is amazing and the ponies are cute as well as the girls that were riding with us. It was a rainy and cold day but it was still fun to ride with them. Definitely would recommend:)

We came along with 4 kids aged 9-13, 2 riders and 2 non. All had an amazing experience. Gorgeous well behaved ponies, lovely trek, beautiful scenery. Big thank you to Hannah who was absolutely amazing with my very nervous daughter, so friendly and chatty. By the end my daughter was trotting happily along. Highly recommend this experience, great value for money, all run by students. We had lots of fun walking along while the kids rode. It has been the highlight of our holiday!

My 10 year old daughter and her friend went on a pootle with the Exmoor ponies yesterday morning in Glendevon. They are beginners but love horses. They were well looked after and had an amazing morning, they can't stop talking about it. The girls took their time introducing them to the ponies and showing them the ropes. The trek up into the hills was glorious, and they even had a go a trotting.

I'd thoroughly recommend the experience, it was really well run, very friendly and great fun! Lovely staff doing a wonderful job. And Barney and Dan were brilliant too!

What an amazing day out! I was a complete beginner but I got all the information and support I needed from the lovely staff. Barney was the sweetest pony and I had the time of my life. Can’t wait to come back!

Took a trek with the exmoor ponies in glendevon just outside Edinburgh, what a fantastic experience. These ponies are so well cared for, happy in their environment that they’re a joy to be around. The ponies are gleaming as all of those looking after them are so attentive and loving to them. When on the trek the views are simply spectacular, it’s a beautiful spot and a huge privilege to be out in the countryside with these gorgeous animals. Great value and so well worth doing.

Fab evening trek for my 14yo and friend. The trek leaders were so friendly and professional. The ponies are lovely and the ride was just right for their different levels of confidence (one wanted to canter and got to do that whilst no pressure for the other to go faster than she was comfortable with!)

An added bonus was that the trek leaders were all vet students so they had inspiring and interesting chat during the ride.

What an excellent experience! I booked this ride for myself and a friend as a Christmas gift for her. We chose the beginners afternoon ride. The entire experience was wonderful, the ponies were lovely and the scenery was beautiful. We were even lucky to see some highland cows! I am an experienced rider and thought the girls who run the treks are really good, very friendly and knowledgeable. I love that all of the money goes straight back in to looking after the horses!

My whole experience with the Exmoor Ponies was great. I came in contact with them a few months before I booked my trek and they sorted me into their advanced ride based on my experience. You’ll want to book early as their rides fill up fast! Instructions on how to get to their riding grounds in the Pentlands was easy to understand and only cost me two bus tickets. They provide helmets and students receive a discount. When I got there each rider was assigned a pony and got to fetch, groom and tack them before our ride. I advice you be well dressed for the weather. During half our ride it was pouring and windy and the other half it was sunny. Overall an enjoyable journey. The leaders were very kind.

I booked a 2 hour ride and enjoyed it a lot ! Although the ponies look small once you're on them, they feel like the "real thing". We explored the Pentland Hills (lovely views of Ednburgh) and the scenery was beautiful and felt "wild". The ponies coped with cyclists, dogs, kids, golfers, joggers and hikers. Due to the terrain we went mostly in walk but also trotted and cantered a bit. The guides were very friendly and put a great focus on safety. I had a minor injury and the guide Annabelle contacted me some days later to make sure everything was ok (yes, it was !). I wish I'd known this place before !
