Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Drove past a few times on the way to my son's place up Edinburgh, always liked the look of it. Popped in with my two sons for a quick pint and loved the look inside, definitely my kind of pub
Traditional with a lot of locals and a few visitors. Had a nice pint of T lager and very reasonably priced, I will return on my next visit

Popped in so my other half could have a drink. Reminded me of my old local pub in Aberdeen, which is no longer there. Cosy inside and plenty of interesting memorabilia on the walls to look at. All the customers looked like regulars. Lovely place and a couple of wee dogs in with their owners. Would defo go back. Cheap also.

We visited the pub while our wives shopped at the yarn store nearby. Not the typical activities for visitors from the States but hey the beer choices were great and the bartender attended to business. Two patrons had their pups sleeping at their feet and the rest of the clientele was relaxed and chatting away. I'm not an expert on bars and pubs but this was a great place to cool down after a 30 minute walk and to enjoy the people of Scotland

The pub is a diamond in the rough. Only last year they started accepting card payments! A local crowd of mainly men, with a few newbie locals and a younger crowd on the weekend. You will get a good laugh here if you can understand drunken scots.

On a hot day this was what we needed, a cold inexpensive beer, a clean and cool interior but some lively company sitting outside in the sun to keep us amused! Credit to the lady behind the bar who kept calm when it got lively!

The Artisan was exactly the kind of bar I was looking for when arriving in Edinburgh and happened to be just around the corner from my Airbnb. Came in during a football game which was fun to see all the excitement and came back each night during my stay. The bartenders were fantastic, great drink selection, good prices, and I adored the people I met. As a female, I felt very comfortable sitting by myself which can't be said for establishments back home. I will definitely be back, especially since they can pour a proper Guinness.

Can highly recommend this pub it's not far from the usual tourist trail but far enough to not be affected by it. Excellent service from the bar staff when we were there great selection of quality beers and spirits.
Good lively atmosphere on match days with friendly banter from the Hibs locals.
Definitely recommended if your in the area.

Need a pint, need to watch a little football, technically not a Hibs pub 😜then you simply need to find this place. A proper, real, old skool boozer, great atmosphere, lovely staff and the odd dog wandering round the place. 👍🏻

We just called in for a drink on the walk to somewhere else but ended up having a couple because this is such a nice bar. It may not be to everyone's taste but it hit the mark with us. Good staff and good drink, what more do you need. We will call in next time we are there.
