Go there for an amazing atmosphere, a good selection of whisky and great live folk music. It's not a large pub which makes it feel all lovely and cosy. The people behind the counter and some of the locals are nice. Always worth a stop on a night out in Edinburgh.

What a great little bar this place is, good selection of beers and an even better choice of single malt whiskies. The bar staff are all first class, fast, efficient and friendly. Great music enjoyed by locals and vast numbers of tourists from all over the world.

What a special experience - the kind you hope to have when traveling somewhere. We were 3 Americans on a Monday night looking for a post-dinner, local experience. When we walked in to see gray hair tucked into an alcove, which turned out to be a dozen locals playing simple folk music... we felt like we had hit gold! So many instruments, they kept pulling them out of the basement... stopped the music to have a visiting Irishman sing an acoustic folks song. We were charmed beyond belief by this magical and friendly place. I almost didn't want to review it, worried it would be flooded with tourists, but it's a special, kind place and deserves your business.
