While living in Edinburgh from 2011 to 2014, I had the pleasure of making this bar my "local." Bar tenders with cutting edge talent and bar managers who deferred to their staff's abilities in crafting a menu led to the production of some of the finest cocktails in Europe. However, it is clearly no longer 2014. A menu that once... More

This was a very expensive place to go for a few quiet drinks but the cocktails were awesome and the bar was completely unique. It was extremely trendy with little candles and unique decorations.

This is easy the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. I had a suite on the top floor that looked right on to the water. The hotel and room is very trendy and modern. We had breakfast delivered to our room in the morning. We had champagne on ice when we arrived and the room had so much space.... More

Very cool place , good service great music. Lounges are comfy and the atmosphere is very chilled. After a day of walking the streets of Edinburgh it is a great place to sit back and relax.

After a good treck around Edinburgh bars we felt defeated by the weather and decided to call it a night and go back to the hotel missoni. As we got back we noticed that there was a lot of fun happening in the bar area so stopped off for some drinks. For him:rum. For me:cocktails. Excellent service the staff went above... More

Stayed during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. What a location! Close to all amenities, walking distance to Princes Street and Royal Mile. Very clean and cool designed room. Expensive room rates but reasonable price for dinner and drinks.

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
