As a life long fly fisher, I've always wanted to take the opportunity to fish in the UK. With a recent roadtrip around the UK I finally had that chance. My wife had zero fly fishing experience and Ken was fantastic at helping her with her casting and teaching her how to read the water and the overall world of fly fishing. She even landed her first trout on a fly rod! In the meantime he just pointed out the runs and lies and asked me to explore them for some potential early salmon. Having booked this as a fun couples trout / grayling trip I jumped at the opportunity and happily obliged. Needless to say the last thing I expected was to hook into and land a nice salmon on trout gear.
Ken was top notch, and great fun guy. Knowledgeable with patient and grace needed to help with newcomers and experienced alike.

I had an excellent experience with Callum. Communication was simple when booking, and he was very accommodating when I woke up late—he made sure we still had plenty of time to fish on a wonderful Scottish fall morning on the Tweed. As a first-timer to euro nymphing, I appreciated how easily he broke down the technique, making it accessible and enjoyable. The grayling we caught were big, healthy, and beautiful, which made the experience even more memorable. His knowledge and patience made the day both fun and educational. Highly recommend Callum for anyone looking for a top-notch fly fishing guide in Edinburgh area.

Booked a two day fly fishing experience on River Tweed with my fiancee, everything was top notch and our guide Ken was a top lad with all the information, patience and knowledge to share for absolute beginners. We have fished a lot before with spinning and nets, but this was a whole different world to get into, and we couldnt get a better guide to teach us through all the info on gear, handling, tehniques etc.
Highly recommending Scotia Fishing and St.Boswells and near Innerleithen parts of the River Tweed with Ken.
Cheers! Definetly will be back for salmon later 😊

Had a great day on the river with Ken. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. What luck catching a beautiful Atlantic Salmon on about my 8th cast with a 5 weight trout rod. What a battle. I know many fishermen go for months without a tug. I'll take a little luck any day. I would highly recommend Scotia. 👌

We had a 2-day Father and Son pike fishing trip with Callum in June 2024. Callum was an excellent guide and good company, always taking the time to explain some techniques to my 15-year old. The highlight of the trip was the wild and majestic location and we also caught several double-figure pike. The weather was a bit wild during our trip, with strong winds and some rain, but of course this ideal for the pike! See you again Callum!

We absolutely loved our fishing trip with Scotia Fishing. Andy and Andrew both were incredible, they made the day even more fun. They helped us all day with our very specific needs and it wasn’t the slightest bother. My dad is an avid fisherman and even he learned loads and had an absolute blast. It should also be noted the gear is very nice, well fitted and a lot of thought goes into your day. The lunch was also amazing with the view of the river. I highly recommend this as a day out and we can’t wait to go back again!

Fished with Callum a few times now, most recently for the Salmon, 10/10 fishing guide uses his vast knowledge of the Scottish rivers to get you on the best beats, good crack and always cooks up a perfect dinner. Would definitely recommend to anyone! 2 Salmon from most recent trip pic below.

Callum and the other guide, Ken were fantastic! Very patient in helping the group learn the new casting techniques. They worked very hard to get us on the fish and the hospitality was amazing. Great people, great guides, great time.

My wife and I just got back from a weeks 'Best of Scotland Fishing Break' with Scotia Fishing. It was an absolutely amazing fishing holiday from start to finish:
Day One: Our guide Callum took us fly fishing for brown trout on a highland lock, the views were amazing, as was the venison burger he cooked us for lunch, and we caught many wild brown trout between us both.
Day Two to Four: Salmon fishing on the River Tay, conditions weren't perfect with Storm Agnes but the fishing was outstanding! Callum's exceptional knowledge of the river, where Salmon were likely to be, and how we should fish for them, meant we caught six Atlantic Salmon and two sea trout between us, including a Salmon of a lifetime at 21lbs!
Day Five: Pike fishing on a lock, the highland views were even more spectacular than Day One, we caught a a nice lean lock Pike and the beef stew and smokey Scottish whisky Callum served for lunch was delicious!
All in all a fishing holiday of a lifetime, which we will never forget, and we will definitely go back fishing in Scotland with Scotia Fishing!

I’m an old seasoned trout angler, and since I was a lad I’ve always dreamed of landing a salmon. I’ve hooked fish before, but never really had one stick, so it is fair to say that this had become a lifelong dream.
I got in touch with Scotia after reading Callum’s reviews, my main goal being to catch a fish, but I also wanted to refresh my fly-casting, and get advice on ‘reading’ the river.
I got all that, and more. Callum’s professionalism is unquestionable; he calmly and patiently tolerated and tweaked my casting ‘technique’, but he also knew where to fish, how, and with what. This resulted in me hooking (and unfortunately, losing) two fish and then finally hooking and playing a seventeen-pound fish, with Callum expertly netting it.
Throughout the day, Callum was great company and he made me feel relaxed, and it is clear that he not only values his guests, but he is interested in them and in making their day as perfect as possible.
I’m not going to lie, I’m a pensioner now and the day really stretched my budget, but it was an experience that I’ll never forget and was worth every penny. I went with no expectation other than a great day out (as a trout angler I know that fish and the weather sometimes just don’t want to play), but what I experienced was better than a great day. It was truly a red-letter day.
Oh, and the lunch was great, too. I look forward to my next guided session with Scotia, and I can’t praise them high enough.

Hi Bill. No Callum is a guide who'll take you to whatever kind of fishing you want. He does Fly, Course, Pike etc. If you book him he'll do whatever kind of location you want and he knows the good ones. Hope that helps.
