What a fantastic day fishing with Callum. He is truly a profession displaying patience, knowledge and when he has to he can demonstrate his teaching techniques with his angling skills. Although the river was less than cooperative due to heavy rainfall Callum did his best and found suitable wading and fish able waters. I would not hesitate to recommend this company for a truly great fishing experience. Additionally he prepared a great lunch.

As a fishing guide myself I appreciated Callum’s patience’s whilst teaching my wife how to Spey fish. The venison burgers he made for lunch were a delicious addition to the trip.
With Callum’s help tips with my casting I was able get multiple grabs and put a couple of fish to hand, for my first Spey caught Atlantic Salmon. I would highly recommend getting out with them when in Scotland. Cheers! 🍻🍻

A super nice first experience of river fishing, thanks to Callum. My son and I have been spin fishing before, although not in rivers. We fished on Callum's last day on River Tay for this year and have no fishing luck this time, although we were lucky to see 5 salmons jump close by. The nature is great on the spot. Callum is a very professional guide, and highly recognized by his peers as we witnessed during a conversation in the common fishing hut we shared for lunch. Another guide told a couple of fishermen that Callum was certainly the most experineced on the spot. Although the water was very high and it was no good time for fly fishing, my on could test it (he loved it by the way). All in all, an excellent day.

I can't write highly enough of Scotia Fishing. It's owner Callum is just the best. We booked a day of salmon fishing with him on the River Tay as part of a bachelor weekend for my brother. He was extremely responsive and easy to work with as we planned the day, which was much appreciated, given that most of our small group had never fished like this before. He provides everything you'll need: boots, waders, fishing rods, tackle, and nets. What little you'll need to bring on your own he provides detailed instructions on before you arrive, including pictures! He couldn't have made it easier. Lunch is included in your fishing day. We weren't expecting much, maybe a sandwich and some crisps / chips, since obviously we were there to fish not eat! But holy smokes were we wrong. Callum's own mom came to the little fishing cabin and cooked us all a delicious home made meal! It was one of the best meals we had in Scotland. Callum is also a professional level photographer, so he makes sure to capture some really beautiful photos of your day. It's definitely a big bonus in fishing with him. For everything he includes - a wonderful lunch, all the fishing gear, professional photos, and his expertise and company - Callum's rates are very reasonable. He really makes such a great experience accessible.
I'll never fish with anyone else when I visit Scotland! I can't recommend him enough!

My wife and I just got back from a weeks 'Best of Scotland Fishing Break' with Scotia Fishing. It was an absolutely amazing fishing holiday from start to finish:
Day One: Our guide Callum took us fly fishing for brown trout on a highland lock, the views were amazing, as was the venison burger he cooked us for lunch, and we caught many wild brown trout between us both.
Day Two to Four: Salmon fishing on the River Tay, conditions weren't perfect with Storm Agnes but the fishing was outstanding! Callum's exceptional knowledge of the river, where Salmon were likely to be, and how we should fish for them, meant we caught six Atlantic Salmon and two sea trout between us, including a Salmon of a lifetime at 21lbs!
Day Five: Pike fishing on a lock, the highland views were even more spectacular than Day One, we caught a a nice lean lock Pike and the beef stew and smokey Scottish whisky Callum served for lunch was delicious!
All in all a fishing holiday of a lifetime, which we will never forget, and we will definitely go back fishing in Scotland with Scotia Fishing!

My husband and I spent the day with our guide Ken and he was fantastic. We met him in Walkerburn and he suited us up with waders, fly rods, and everything else we needed. I was a complete novice, and my husband had some experience with fly fishing. He started off using Euro rods which are newer in the world of fly fishing. After about an hour, he switched us over to traditional fly rods, and he taught us how to do three different casts. They were the Double Spey, Snake Roll and the Snap T!
We fished from about 9:30 until 12 then we got out of the river and went to this cute little building for lunch. We then fished from 1-4 pm and it was just a lovely day. I can't say enough great things about Ken and also Callum, because he was so flexible with us about what day we booked, etc.
I highly recommend Scotia Fishing!!!

I’m an old seasoned trout angler, and since I was a lad I’ve always dreamed of landing a salmon. I’ve hooked fish before, but never really had one stick, so it is fair to say that this had become a lifelong dream.
I got in touch with Scotia after reading Callum’s reviews, my main goal being to catch a fish, but I also wanted to refresh my fly-casting, and get advice on ‘reading’ the river.
I got all that, and more. Callum’s professionalism is unquestionable; he calmly and patiently tolerated and tweaked my casting ‘technique’, but he also knew where to fish, how, and with what. This resulted in me hooking (and unfortunately, losing) two fish and then finally hooking and playing a seventeen-pound fish, with Callum expertly netting it.
Throughout the day, Callum was great company and he made me feel relaxed, and it is clear that he not only values his guests, but he is interested in them and in making their day as perfect as possible.
I’m not going to lie, I’m a pensioner now and the day really stretched my budget, but it was an experience that I’ll never forget and was worth every penny. I went with no expectation other than a great day out (as a trout angler I know that fish and the weather sometimes just don’t want to play), but what I experienced was better than a great day. It was truly a red-letter day.
Oh, and the lunch was great, too. I look forward to my next guided session with Scotia, and I can’t praise them high enough.

Callum was a well seasoned guide. We fished the river Tay for a couple days. He was very patient with my wife and I while he was instructing us on the art of Spey casting. We caught arctic salmon and brown trout. Great conversation, and fishing.
If we come back to Scotland will definitely arrange another trip with Callum.

Hi Bill. No Callum is a guide who'll take you to whatever kind of fishing you want. He does Fly, Course, Pike etc. If you book him he'll do whatever kind of location you want and he knows the good ones. Hope that helps.
