My first fly fishing lesson with Callum, who was knowledgeable and patient. He explained the basics and provided very helpful advice. Let’s hope I can learn from this foundation and catch some fish!

I had a fantastic day of winter fishing with Callum Conner of Scotia fishing. As a novice fisher, I had no clue what I was doing and Callum was patient, very knowledgeable and an excellent teacher. We fished in the beautiful River Tweed with amazing scenery and the best day in the water. I will definitely be back soon for more lessons and hopefully some venison burgers for lunch!

Callum took me and a friend out for a complete beginners day of fishing. He is excellent company and a fantastic teacher - patient, encouraging and a wealth of knowledge. He picked a great spot to spend the day, the views alone were memorable. Having gone in with no experience, we left feeling as though we could make a good attempt at fly fishing on our own. Callum also got in touch afterwards with a collection of fisheries we could go along to in the off season + some pictures he took on the day. 10/10 would recommend whatever your experience level.

Many thanks to Callum Conner for organising my 2 day salmon fishing trip on the Upper Tweed. His choice of beats were excellent with regard to my casting and wading abilities and he also proved that you can teach an "old dog" new tricks, so much so that I even managed to catch a salmon!

Met up with Callum on Thursday for a day on the Stinchar near Colmonell. Beautiful Spate river the day after a torrential downpour. Caught my first Salmon, chuffed! It’s the second time I’ve been out with Callum, previously on the Tweed with my son. It won’t be the last. He is a knowledgeable, genuinely nice chap. I have so much to learn and he has the answers to it all. I think I was starting to get the double Spey cast by the end of the day. Thank you again Callum for a very enjoyable, memorable day. See you next year...if I can’t get away sooner!
