We signed up for the 3-day Isle of Skye trip. The views and sights were simply breathtaking. Even though it was off-season and the low temperatures could be quite daunting, it was a great experience cos there were no crowds and you can just enjoy the vast lands and stunning sights with no disturbance - and yes, take pictures without... Fran took us on a very informative and highly enjoyable day throughout the Scottish Highlands and to Loch Ness. The small tour bus allowed great interaction and Fran added extra touches that made it more interesting. She showed us on a big map of Scotland exactly where we were at each stop and told the history in places we visited... More

I spent some days in Edinburgh and I thought to have a look at the countryside. I went with rabbie's to west highlands and I liked so much. Our guide was Grant. Nice guy who made the day interesting and told us lots of stories of Scottish's history. I recommend it

We took the tour to the Highlands and Inverness, which was amazing largely because of Alan, our guide, who had some great ability for storytelling and was very accommodating for all the passenger's needs. However, the company failed to let us know the cost of the accommodation or make an accurate estimate. On the webpage they said the accommodation would... More

This was our first tour with Rabbies and they were excellent. Stevie was a wonderful guide/driver and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip to see the beautiful Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle with other stops along the way

We were fortunate to go on a good day and made lots of stops. Beautiful scenery. Our guide Heather was brilliant; very accommodating, friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. She was an amazing guide. All this said I'd recommend going on a trip to somewhere closer that might allow for more time walking and exploring.

Set at the top of Princes street this pretty little cafe has great big windows giving it great views and feeling light and spacious. We called in for breakfast and settled on bacon rolls, lovely and fresh, but there was a wide choice from pastries and beautiful looking tray bakes. Fresh rolls and sandwiches to take away and great coffee... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
