If I could give this place a zero rating I would. Can't tell you a thing about the actual food, as i didn't wait long enough to find out. After waiting to be seated for about five minutes, we were greeted by a young trendy hipster, who asked how many we were. All good. The lad then took about a... More

Lovely grounds and really nice shop and cafe. We went on the 8km walk around the estate. Great scenery with fields of bluebells and horses making their way over to let us stroke their noses. There are parts which are a working farm so you need to be respectful and have your dog on a lead but there is plenty... More

We took our 6 and 10 year olds who both loved it. £5 per child but you could spend the day especially if they had friends to play with. There is a park for younger children and a swing which is suitable for those with additional needs. My kids LOVE the tunnel under the bridge and the various climbing nets... More

We visited with our two children 5&4 year olds, had a fantastic time the fort was only £3 for each child and well worth exploring the park was very busy but is big enough to still find a quiet corner! We opted to take a picnic which was the best idea as cafe was very very busy,we found a lovely spot... More

This was the first time my husband and I visited Dalkeith Country Park with our dog. The place is amazing has great walks, fantastic play area for the kids with a huge wooden fort to play in to keep them amused for hours. Cafe had plenty to choose from reasonably priced. Will definitely bring the grandchildren here in the summer.

We had guests with young kids and came here on Easter Saturday. Fort Douglas is brilliant for the kids and the gift shop and cafe good for adults ! Cakes and coffee were delicious and home made and staff all every friendly. The children had lots to do and extra activities on for Easter but enough without them and all... More

Treated the kids with an outdoor adventure park - and they loved it! We loved seeing all the love&care and imagination that has gone into creating a playground for kids to climb, run, play, and challenge themselves. A big wooden fortress/castle with tons to see and try out, a really cool "climb under the bridge" and an exciting tunnel... And... More

This place was a gem of a find set in beautiful landscape and plenty for the kids to do. It was clean and so were the toilet facilities. The only thing that bothered me was that there was a lack of staff presence within fort Douglas a lot of the activities require children to climb etc and it was a... More

Visited the country park with 5 kids aged 3-12. Great fun. There really is something for all ages. All of the kids loved the fort, tunnel slide and obstacle course. The fun starts from when you cross the bridge over the river with the option to go under the bridge in the wire tunnel. From then on in the difficulty... More

I visited here with my 2 year old niece. We had a great adventure. Great walks. The courtyard is lovely with some shops and a cafe. We took a picnic at ate under a big open tent/canopy among hay bales! Great fun! The park has a lot of activities to play on for younger kids and the big fort is... More
