Ronnie Berri is a wonderful guide and source of knowledge for all things scotch. My boyfriend and I went for a day tour and Ronnie gave us the experience of a lifetime. We learned about different types of soil, tried scotch from all over the world, and had amazing tours and private tastings that he set up for us. I HIGHLY recommend this tour and experience. I think still think about this tour constantly and my boyfriend I cherish it as a very special memory. Thank you, Ronnie and thanks to Bruce, our driver (he’s and absolute delight too). We’ve recommended Ronnie to any friends and family heading to Scotland. Thank you for the knowledge and memories.

When my husband and I went to Scotland 9 years ago, we stumbled into The Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh, and fell in love with Scotch! We vowed to go back to Scotland for distillery tours, and in October 2023 we fulfilled that vow. We hired Ronnie Berri because we wanted an expert guide, but we didn't want the hassle of a group tour. Yes, we paid significantly more, but it was worth every penny! Ronnie not only took us to the best distilleries around Islay and Jura, but also took us to the out-of-the-way historic spots in the areas, which gave us more insight into the history and culture of Scotland than we could have ever gotten on our own. Plus, we got to drink lots of whisky, and we didn't have to worry about driving anywhere! It was an exceptional experience, and we will definitely be using Ronnie's services again for all future Scotch whisky tours.

Ronnie was fabulous! Took us to Speyside. We had done a group tour in Islay a few years ago. Like night and day. Ronnie was so informative and he had connections that the tour group did not. Yes, a bit more expensive, but totally worth it. And, he and driver Alan picked us up at our Edinburgh hotel and dropped us off at our St Andrews apartment! We didn’t have to go back to Edinburgh and then make our way back up to St Andrews. Many thanks to Ronnie and Alan! Even with the poor weather we had a total blast!

We just returned home from an unforgettable 3 days tour with Ronnie and driver Dez. We have never before considered any kind of tour when we have traveled and we booked this one on the recommendation of a friend and are so very happy that we did. Ronnie was so easy to work with and he was a wealth of knowledge about all things Scotland, whisky and history. It was our first trip to Scotland and he helped us with ideas and planning of not only our 3 days with him, but also ideas for the other 14 days we traveled on our own. Ronnie made every minute of the tour an adventure, including ongoing educational dialogue AND tastings from his private whisky collection during travel time in the van. We highly recommend Ronnie Berri for a personalized, educational and delightful experience and we look forward to booking with him again one day.

We went on a distillery tour and got an experience like no other. We did not expect to learn so much about the history of Scotland. We learn a lot about the different regions that bring the great whisky we know as Scotch. Ronnie was an excellent tour guide. If you are looking for something that will bring a lot of really cool information while enjoying some amazing whisky’s from his personal collection, this is the way to go. Highly recommended.

Ronnie's knowledge of whiskey is amazing. His knowledge of Scotland, despite being from Israel originally, is equally amazing. Not only did we tour and sample many scotch whiskies I had never even heard of, we tasted so many more from Ronnie's private, exclusive, collection in his car. We tasted various whiskies while driving from one distillery to the next!!!

Our trip with Ronnie surpassed even our wildest expectations. My family (my husband, myself, and our 20-something kids) spent two days in the Scottish Highlands. Our group included some whisky novices and some people with more experience, and the distillery tours and tastings were enjoyed by everyone. The time that we spent driving was used for tasting and learning as well (many thanks to Harry for navigating while Ronnie taught). Our trip included some non-whisky stops as well, and Ronnie's knowledge enhanced those visits too. Most importantly, although Ronnie's credentials as Keeper of the Quaich mean that his expertise in whisky is unparalleled, he helped our group of relative novices to have fun learning and to feel comfortable trusting our own tastes. This is an amazing gift--we will think fondly of Ronnie every time we drink whisky in the months and years to come!

My family and I (wife and 2 college aged kids) went on a 5 day Scotland trip. We had reserved with Ronnie a 2 night, 3 day single malt tour. From the first moment he picked us up, we knew we were in for a different kind of tour you usually book while on vacation. He was exceptionally knowledgeable about distilleries and Scottish history. He shared with us many stories about all the sites, distilleries, and about his experiences through his own travels. Not to mention the 30 plus samples he shared with us from his private collection while en route in the private van he had for our trip. And Allistair, the driver, was a extra bonus, also very knowledgeable and fun to be around. Ronnie had carefully planned out distillery visits and historical sites which all went very smoothly. If you are a whisky fan, this is something for your bucket list!

Our goal: Become more knowledgeable about Scottish whisky.
Our plan: Take a 3-day excursion with Ronnie Berri through Speyside and the Highlands.
Our unexpected result: An over-the-top personalized whisky, history, etymology, and cultural immersion experience.

My son and I made plans to visit Scotland with a focus on discovering the nuances of Scotch whisky. Our research led us to Ronnie Berri who, through several pre-trip communications, took careful pains to understand us and precisely tailored a 3-day tour around our preferences.
To say that Ronnie is a great whisky tour leader is a huge understatement. As a Keeper of the Quaich, his knowledge and love of all things whisky is unsurpassed – the history and market niche of every distillery, the intricacies and quirks of whisky production, and the subtle differences among brands and batches that he has accumulated through years of tasting. As well, his knowledge of Scottish history, monarchs, intrigues, battles, castles, etc. is truly encyclopedic.
Ronnie made sure that everything we saw, tasted, and experienced was fully explained and placed in context. Our first day included the Dalwhinnie Distillery for a whisky and chocolates masterclass, some sampling at Glenfarclas, and then a comprehensive full production tour and tasting at Balvenie. Our second day started at the magnificent Macallan Distillery, followed by a warehouse visit and tasting at Glen Moray, and then a private visit and tasting at the marvelous coastal Glenglassaugh Distillery. The third day began with a visit to the historically-significant Culloden Battlefield (a must for “Outlander” fans), a stop overlooking Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle, and finally a cask tasting at Deanston Distillery’s Warehouse 4. Illustrating and contrasting with the approximately 25 distillery tasting samples, Ronnie presented us with almost 50 tastings from his extensive personal whisky collection as we traveled from place to place. In all, a comprehensive 3-day introduction to Scotch whisky and so much more than we had even expected.
Ronnie and our brilliant driver and sartorial paragon, Bruce, carefully looked after our needs, saw to our comfort, and gently kept us on schedule so we could experience everything on our well-planned itinerary.
We highly recommend Ronnie Berri and his Scottish Whisky Tours to serious, inquisitive adventurers and whisky lovers. Your adventure will become an indelible memory as has ours.

Ronnie gave us a wonderful tour of the Central Highlands, a couple of distilleries and curated the tasting of over thirty whiskeys during the day long trip. He has a very friendly and knowledgeable manner and was able to adapt everything to our level of understanding. The experience was one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommended!
