My friends and I had an incredible tour of Islay and Campbeltown distilleries with Ronnie Berri over five days. From day one I was impressed with Ronnie's attention to detail and his breadth and depth of knowledge of Scottish whisky and its history. He helped us plan out a fantastic itinerary, recommended the optimal places to stay and dine, and handled all of the logistics to get us from Edinburgh to Islay and Campbeltown and then back. While whisky was the impetus and focus, Ronnie imparted so much Scottish history along the way (driving from one location to another) that there was never a dull moment. I cannot wait for my next trip with him!

If you're looking to learn about Scotland and all things Whisky, it gets no better than Ronnie and his team at Scottish Whisky Tours.
My friends and I were expertly toured around Islay, Campbeltown and the Highlands by Ronnie and Allan, over 4 informative and absolutely hilarious days.
During that time we visited distilleries, historic castles, churches and burial sites, all tied together by Ronnie's deep knowledge of the land and its people. His experience and passion showed in every step of the way as he immersed us in the history and culture of each area we visited by delving into his inexhaustible collection of whiskies and anecdotes.
Rugged landscapes and friendly people greeted us at every turn, the generosity of the whisky industry people we met was a testament to the high regard they all hold Ronnie. He's a Keeper of the Quaich and a Scottish Tourist Guide member, and those actually mean something.
While on an impromptu drop in at the new Ardnahoe distillery, Ronnie's Keeper of the Quaich lapel pin was noticed by one of the staff, and we were whisked off for a cheeky tour and photo next to the spirit safe and one of the most amazing views on the Island - you literally cannot buy that kind of experience, it only comes from being with someone who has been in the industry for decades, like Ronnie has.
Ronnie and his team picked us up each morning in a luxury van, treated us to many whiskies that are impossible to get here in the US and whisked us off on our curated tour for the day before dropping us back off again in the evening. There's plenty of downtime to explore your surroundings on your own too.
We've already booked Ronnie again for 2021, and while I would love to keep him all to myself as Scotland's best kept secret, everyone deserves to have a life changing experience like a Scottish Whisky Tour with Ronnie

My wife and two of our close friends did a two-day tour with Ronnie last August and it was worth every minute and dollar. We organized our trip with Ronnie well in advance as he books up fast!
Ronnie picked us up in a luxury van in Edinburgh and away we went for our two-day tour in the Highlands. Ronnie also supplied us with a list of accommodations so we could book our room for one night in Speyside. We chose the Station Hotel. We sampled many single malts at the distilleries and as an added bonus, Ronnie brought part of his collection along for us to sample while we learned a little bit of Scottish history along the way.
We are already planning another tour to Islay with Ronnie in the near future. You will not be disappointed.

This was my second tour with Ronnie, and I was worried that nothing could even get close to the magic of touring Islay and Campbeltown with him in 2019, but lightning can strike twice!
This tour was for 6 days of Distillery visits through Speyside, the Highlands, and the Lowlands and it was just as special as we could have hoped for. Yes, lightning can strike twice, but it wasn't down to luck; it was down to Ronnie's careful and meticulous planning, and his ability to quickly pivot to other options when distilleries couldn't provide the quality of experience he demands for his guests. Travelling during 2021 proved to be very challenging, but with Ronnie we barely noticed as we were picked up from our hotels each morning and safety ensconced in the luxurious van for the day's activities.
Ronnie's contacts and status in the Scottish whisky industry was once again like a back stage pass. Distilleries that were sometimes closed, opened specially for us; allowing a depth of tour not afforded most people. A couple of times we were the only people in the distillery, and sometimes it felt like we were the only people in Scotland. It wasn't just a distillery tours either, there were plenty of other historical sites and sights; some highlights being an emotionally charged tour of a dark and rainy Culloden and a relaxing picnic on the banks of the river Spey in Aberlour with local cheeses, snacks, and of course, whiskies.
This is an experience that money can't buy, except you can! The care, dedication, and passion Ronnie has for this land and its people shines through every step of the way, and there is simply no better way to see Scotland, its rich history, and amazing whisky culture than to be his guest.

Three of us booked a two day tour from Edinburgh with Ronnie and it was absolutely wonderful. Picked up from our city centre accommodation in a lovely big Mercedes Van, we had two fantastic , unforgettable days up and around Speyside. Peter the driver was safe, helpful and charming, and Ronnie was simply wonderful. His deep knowledge, interpersonal style, personal relationships everywhere, his encyclopaedic knowledge and on board whisky collection that we sampled and learned as we went, was simply wonderful. His choice of distilleries and the experience at each was spot on, and we left having learned so much about whisky, distilleries , history and Scotland. This two day trip was thoroughly enjoyable and way exceeded any of our expectations. I really cannot recommend Ronnie enough as a personal guide to any whisky area in Scotland - he's incredibly knowledgable and a very good guide, and interpersonally excellent and warm. You wont regret booking with Ronnie !

Ronnie was our guide for a fantastic full day experience with tours of two distilleries, custom tastings and lunch and sightseeing. Ronnie is incredibly knowledgeable about whiskey but also was a fun and engaging guide pointing out highlights in the countryside, telling interesting stories and sharing his enthusiasm for all things Scotland throughout the day. With regard to the whiskey, we learned a ton about the process, about what we liked and why. Ronnie was super generous in exposing us to some bottles that were of quality (and surely price) well in excess of what we probably deserved as novices. I should also note that Ronnie was super responsive and easy to work with in planning the trip over email from abroad and all of the details, payment and so forth were seamless and easy. Our group included 4 university kids in their early 20s, my wife and I in our 50's and my 85 year old mother in law and everyone really enjoyed the day which says a lot about Ronnie! Highly recommend.

Ronnie created an experience for a group of 5 friends that created lifetime memories. The 3 night/4 day tour was beyond the amazing distillery visits and whiskey tastings. He shared his extensive knowledge of all of Scotland’s diverse distilleries through his private collection and deep knowledge of the history. There was also time for great scenic visits, Scottish history, distillery politics/ownership/blender info and much more. Ronnie was also great helping with the planning of hotels along the routes and had great advice on restaurants for the evenings. He was flexible through all the changes due to Covid restrictions for travel and distillery openings with great communication throughout. If you take one thing with you to Scotland it should be Ronnie and all his experience!!! I can’t wait to go back!

One of the most anticipated parts of our first trip to Scotland was going Whisky tasting. Ronnie Berri delivered and created one of the highlights of our 17-day adventure. Ronnie took interest in understanding our interests and customizing a full day of tasting for my wife and I. Ronnie arrived at our hotel on time and dressed in a full Scottish kilt outfit, escorting us to a chauffeured van that was quite comfortable and full of bottles that Ronnie had assembled for our day. Knowing my wife's interest in Outlander, Ronnie tailored the day to include a brief stop at two sites featured in the show, Culross and Doune Castle. Our distillery tours were all pre-scheduled, so we were expected and never waited. The assortment of whiskeys that Ronnie provided was amazing and he did a fabulous job of educating us about the variations, blending, marrying, etc. He was wonderfully patient with us. Since many of the local sheep that we were driving past during the day had newborn lambs, we asked if we might stop and get a photo. The driver was happy to accommodate us for that request as well as other stops when the many scenic views presented themselves. Once we mentioned that we planned to travel via the ferry to Inchcolm island the following day, Ronnie made sure the driver took us through the small town of South Queensferry and pointed out how we would walk from the train station to the ferry. How thoughtful! I would highly recommend booking anything related to Whiskey with Ronnie Berri.

I have done 2 multi-day whisky tours with Ronnie, and they have been some of the most memorable experiences I could have imagined.
My first trip was on my own for my 50th, and on the second I brought friends... because an experience like this has to be shared, much like the spirit itself is meant to be.
Ronnie curates amazing experiences that combine an enduring appreciation of Whisky, with an in-depth historic knowledge of the country and areas you traverse. It’s absolutely phenomenal.
My friends and I are planning our return trip in 2021, and each time we return, we book Ronnie for more days than the last. We simply can’t get enough.
I highly encourage any who are looking for a guide to hire to stop here, book your tour with Ronnie, and then prepare for the time of your life.

Best highland scotch tasting experience you could ever ask for, Ronnie combined and extensive knowledge of whiskey and Scottish history to make an incredibly memorable trip to Scotland. Would recommend touring with Ronnie to anyone that wants a relaxed, informative, and comfortable tour. Had a one day tour of the highlands and two distilleries with Ronnie. He arranged the entire day, pick up at 8:30 am and dropped back at the hotel at 18:00. Travel accommodations were first rate - clean, comfortable, and a friendly chauffeur. Learned so much about how scotch whiskey is made, how to sample and savour the drink. The drive between distilleries was full of opportunities to see the highlands, and other sites, all the while sampling different and very high quality scotch whiskey.
