Callander house was very good, the wood work is beautiful and the ceilings are superb. We went to the tea room and the views are beautiful. We were served by a young man who was very friendly and gave excellent service. Made you feel very welcome. Can't believe there is no charge for visiting the house. The park is lovely... More

Sunday walk at Callander Park followed the clearly marked path way around the large pond and into the walks . Lovely walk with lots of signs of spring about. We had our two dogs and we met lots of other dog owners. Pathways were easily managed and are suitable for bikes, prams and wheelchairs. Walk itself took about 1 hour.... More

The service and food are as good as ever, but the new furniture is a disaster. The tables and chairs look so out of place in the beautiful, tasteful, decorative scheme which really gives you a feel for the 18th century. What a shame! Come on, Falkirk Community Trust send that furniture to one of your sports centres or gyms,... More

My wife and I made the 50 odd minute road trip from just outside Glasgow to Falkirk just to visit Callendar house nearby and were generally delighted with what we found. The staff are on the whole very friendly with the lady on duty in the old kitchen being particularly welcoming, enthusiastic and informative. The outside of the house is... More

Such a regenerative place. Great for a cuppa or snack, learning something new, or walking in the woods. One of my favorite haunts.

I returned to Callendar Park this year and the gardens are still a pleasure and the lobby entrance and stairwell of Callendar House is still imposing and charming and instantly conveys a sense of history. But the upstairs tea rooms have had a 'make over'. It's truly awful. I was horrified they've absolutely destroyed any trace of character in the... More

We learned more specifically about Falkirks history and Callendar house itself. Tea room seems to be busy, but was suggested by locals as a good place to grab a bite. There are walks available around the grounds. The museum is free of charge.

The outside is really stunning and the grounds are really beautiful, so overall from the outside it is something to see. Unfortunately inside we were really disappointed. The information was slightly haphazard and it was difficult to follow. The house and the area has great history, it is a pity that it isn't communicated very well.

Visited Callander House a lot over the years with family and friends who visit the area warm friendly atmosphere good traditional food in the new tea room! The park has been a personal favourite of mine since a young boy fishing and rowing in the near by lake. Plenty to do here with the family around the estate in the... More
