I just love this place! If you're a Portonian you need to pay a visit. You'll always find something different to ooh and ahh at! And the volunteers are so helpful. I could spend a whole day there (if it was open all day!!!) Just brilliant.

Really helpful staff that take their time to show all the children the historical things. Dressing up was much enjoyed and loads of historical photos. Well worth a visit and foc.

I visited Grangemouth from a family history aspect, and was disappointed to find out that the archives were now in Falkirk, and the museum had closed. However, the library staff directed me to this excellent exhibition of Grangemouth's history tucked away behind the main street in a fairly small building. Lots of things to be seen there. Too many for just one visit. One can't take in everything but it's very very interesting and impressive what people have done to show the past of Grangemouth. The trust holds a vast collection of photographs of Grangemouth from the past, including school photo's, past industries,old buildings and many, many more. It also has a large collection of artefacts from day's gone by which stirs old memories.
