Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We really enjoyed our visit, had sandwiches and cake in the small cafe, a good look around the bus museum and a ride on the trains. The little train museum is really worth a trip. What a special place run full of local heritage, definitely worth a visit. It's not as shiny as bigger museums but that's what makes it so special.

Amazing what can be done when a group put their mind to it.
Very knowledgable restorers and workers, who would gladly give time to you and answer most questions professionally.
Well worth a visit.

Enjoyed the visit to the railway. Friendly and enthusiastic volunteers. The whole family liked it. And in combination with the bus museum it is a nice afternoon entertainment.

This is a site of two sides a narrow gauge as well as Standard Gauge! They have two operational Standard gauge EX MOD diesel locos with another on site and at least one working narrow gauge but two other loco's on site! TWO steam loco's not working but being worked on. We asked to go around the shed and were welcomed! Both railways work around 1/2 mile of track at present but need supporters there are only 12 members!

Attending VW show in the grounds of the museum, excellent bonus having the trains to visit here too. Met some really nice staff, who had time to explain interesting facts about the trains, track and future developments for the museum.

Located on the same site as the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum the railway and wider site offer a glimpse into Scotlands military past. The railway offers a short break van ride behind an ex Rosyth diesel. New track has been laid for 2017 which takes the railway down behind the warehouses to the boundary fence. We were also given a short talk on the railway and shown the workshop in Shed 47 the original locomotive shed. There are also narrow gauge locomotives on site and we were told that they hope be running on a new narrow gauge line next year. A really interesting railway.

Visited here today with my son.
This is a separate but interesting attraction which is located within the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum grounds.
We had a pleasant short railway ride on a locomotive.
We noticed during our journey that there are other locomotives situated at different points, so perhaps they rotate them from time to time?
In addition there is a narrow gauge railway on the other side of the roadway but this is still under construction at this time.
Inside 'shed 47' there is some interesting memorabilia.
There are donation boxes, to help with the cost of diesel and such like, and I'm sure the staff/volunteers would very much appreciate contributions.
For us, it was something different to do whilst visiting the Vintage Bus Museum.

If you visit the bus museum head for the small but dedicated Shed 47 Railway restoration group. With a shop and engines on display they run a short trip in a guards van only asking for a donation . They are steadily building up rolling stock on limited lines . The site used to be Lothalmond Naval base and was connected to the railway network . It was nice to see inside the guards van and the children thoroughly enjoyed it

This attraction is attached to the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum but is operated separately. Four locomotives - three diesel and one steam - are on site as well as various wagons and railwayana. Trips on the system are operated on special occasions.
The latest addition is a narrow gauge railway which is currently under construction.
