St Margaret's cave is a great thing to check out if you are in Dunfermline. It is next to a large carpark in the cbd area, free to get into and not an excessive stroll down into a cave to see where she undertook her...More

A shame that a drab car park is the setting of a site so central in Scottish history as it would have taken only a little valuation of the required dignity to set out the site with an enclosure wall, gardens, etc. Not far from...More

Visited with my partner who is not religious. As we descended down the final steps I was reading some of the information on the wall. He came back and said that the lights had flickered as he approached the statue of St Margaret. It may...More

We took our grandchildren to see this and were made very welcome by the lady behind the desk who gave us a potted history of the cave. It's free to visit!

This cave is accessed in a well lit stairwell down several levels of easily negotiated stairs with handrail. The history of this amazing saintly woman of the 12th century is well documented as you descend to her cave where she was said to pray every...More

St Margaret's Cave is located at the back of the Glen Bridge Car Park. It's free to visit. There are leaflets and information panels inside which are good for a quick update if you need to find out who Margaret was and where she fits...More
