Access path is tree lined and waves can be heard. Car park is in Ravenscraig Park where there are great playground facilities for families. The castle gate has beautiful, timeless views to the left. The promontory ruins of the castle are evocative and the views...More

A truly stunning castle with an amazing view. We are working our way around all the castles that historic Scotland have to offer and this has now been ticked of the list. It is a true marvel to behold and wonder how it was built....More

My boyfriend and I drove a fair distance to see Ravenscraig Castle and were disappointed by how little we could see. We couldn't enter the fortress. The close proximity of modern buildings reduced the romance that usually comes with castle ruins in Scotland, too. I...More

What a lovely place even yesterday when it was raining. We all ventured including 3 dogs and 2 boys to the castle - a special place to me, it is where we let my dad free and rest in peace ❤️ We then went off...More

Strange to find this castle not far along from very modern flats & apartments - but happy to find that the ancient can co-exist along with the contemporary, and hey, these old fortifications were built to last centuries. Sadly there was no access to the...More

Visited here due to the connection to the Sinclair clan which is part of my family history. The castle remains are quite small but you get an amazing view of the sea. We stayed a short while, we weren't able to explore the castle in...More

Worth a short visit. There isn’t a ticket booth so you can walk in and around the castle. Nice for a quick visit to look around but not much else to do.

Ravenscraig Castle, today set in a park bearing its name, has a really interesting history. Much o Scottish history is dominated by the conflicts between the monarchs and the barons. Ravenscraig, built by the widow of James II is no exception.

We diverted here after spending time with our grandchildren playing in the adjacent park. The ruins are very impressive given their old age; the two notice boards are informative as to the castle’s history; and the vantage point offers some great views. All in all,...More
