Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great little museum, one of the most beautiful gardens I've experienced. Came with our 3 year old who loved the animal search they have for children. He loved the craft area too. Lots of interesting information, and friendly staff.

The garden is a lovely cottage garden. Peaceful to sit in with lots of plants and information. The cottage has lots of interesting displays and helpful knowledgeable volunteers. Shame the garden is to be reorganised in future. Free entry. No wheelchair access, but that's history.

Don't miss this wonderful museum when you visit St. Andrews. This is a lovely tribute to the people of the town both past and present. Walk through the interesting displays in this 17th c house and spend some relaxing time in the beautiful garden.

Found this via TA so decided to visit while in St Andrew’s for the day. We’ve passed this before be never actually noticed it! It’s a lovely old building steeped in history. Greeted on entry by a very friendly member of staff who guided us around the ground floor giving us lots of information on the building and displays. It was very interesting and welcomed! Lots to see inside and out in the little garden. Don’t miss the outside toilet with double seat! A free museum that’s well worth the visit.

A lovely little free museum gives an insight into the history and commerce of the town. The old shop displays and living garden were particularly interesting.

This is a perfectly charming small museum in a fine 320+ year old house with a collection of assorted artifacts on life in this splendid university town in past years. It is staffed with friendly, knowledgeable people [including volunteers]. A stellar attraction is the lovely small flower and herb garden out the back door, with benches which invite you to sit and meditate on things. Oh, and did I mention it’s FREE?

Pre-booking was easy. A small, quiet, interesting little museum on Sunday 11th July.
Pleasant, tranquil gardens, with seating to sit, watch and reflect.

Due to the small size keep alert to keep distanced.

A small museum but with a lot in it. Interesting information on St Andrews history, social history, and some old retail businesses in the town. Nice garden area. Changing displays upstairs. Free entry.

Hello Andrew, Thanks for taking the time to review the museum! We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your visit. We regularly change the exhibitions upstairs so hopefully we will see you again some time and you can have a look at what's new! Take care. Sam (Museum Manager / Curator)

Walking down the street we went into this little museum. Entrance is free and you can walk through at your leisure. Various displays and history of the area. Also a beautiful little garden where you can sit and enjoy the beauty of St. Andrews. Highly recommended
