We visited when staying in the area on holiday. It is quite over priced for the size, compared with other family visitor attractions and the length of visit. We visited as a family of 2 adults, a 6 and 2 year old. We walked round the whole place within 30 minutes and realised we were at the end. We managed... More

Thanks for your review it was very helpful; I've underlined the importance of always using the microphone. Even a great talk is no good if you can't hear it. Not everyone has my Sergeant Major delivery. As a very old building jammed into the side of a cliff face we are always going to have issues with level changes. But... More

Myself and my two boys (age 2 and 4) visited that aquarium this week. We had a great time. We loved the displays, especially the sharks, the penguins and the seals. We had a fun time there and will visit again.

Used to come here as a child but hadn't been for a good few years. We had a great time! The tanks and displays were all excellent, clean and attractive, and all the animals looked in very good condition. It drives me potty to see aquariums (and zoos) get poor reviews from people who obviously march round quickly just glancing... More

"It drives me potty to see aquariums (and zoos) get poor reviews from people who obviously march round quickly just glancing into each tank and then complain that the whole experience only took them 20 mins." As Francis Urquhart would have said "You might very well think that; I couldn't possibly comment" although I'm certainly not going to disagree with... More

My partner and I spent the afternoon of a rainy day at the aquarium, and enjoyed our visit. I have to confess that I toyed for a long time whether or not to rate it as 4- or 5-stars - the reason I finally settled on 5 is that I feel its unfair to rate something less if you can't... More

Glad you enjoyed yourselves, there's nothing wrong with being geeky. Folks hate visiting zoos and aquariums with me-it takes forever! As you say it's the staff that makes the place; on the keeping team we all love our work and I always think it's obvious to the visitors when somebody doesn't. Sorry we haven't done all the signs yet but... More

As a keen aquarist this was a must visit but really at £10.50 for a half hour maximum visit then I wish I hadn't bothered. The seals, penguins and meerkats simply deserved much better homes than they have here. The aquarium fish were ok but most shops these days have a better selection of fish and tank set ups. Marine... We sorry that you were only able to spend half an hour at the aquarium, many of our visitors attend the talks and feedings and spend a long while looking around. I'm sorry that you were disappointed that we did not have any corals or sea anemones on display. This was a very conscious decision on our part rather than... More

The aquarium is small but has many interesting displays and animals. The information about the animals is informative, as are the staff members. Around lunch time and in the afternoon they have animal feeding shows which are worth watching. The penguins, seals, turtles and meerkats were the highlights. Plenty more reef sharks, lizards and fish to keep everyone entertained. For... More

Thank you for your kind words and we are very glad that you had a fun and educational time. I'd agree with you; arriving in time for the 2pm Penguin Feed and the aftrenoon talks program is a great idea. More

I thought it was a great little aquarium and something that will amuse the kids for a few. I didn't think they had a lot to see but what they did have was pretty cool. I loved the penguins, the meerkats and seals.

I'm glad you had a great day out. Our keeping staff live and breathe animals and they try their best to pass that enthusiasm along. For me attending the talks and feeding makes the visit. Great to hear that you loved it, and we look forward to seeing you again. More

I had the greatest time at the St. Andrews Aquarium! I love fish, sea creatures and other animals so this was a perfect place for me. Plus my husband surprised me with "lunch with the Meerkats" for my birthday present! We had a set time for 'lunch' so explored the aquarium before hand. The staff were very nice and the... More

Great to hear. We do sometimes get adverse comments about our wide range of animals, so it's nice to hear that you guys liked the variety. We do too! The Meerkats have to be some of the most characterful animals I've ever been lucky enough to work with. Believe me when I say they get almost as much out of... More

Came here as part of a day trip to St. Andrews, well worth the entry fee as we had the place to ourselves and had a good long nosey at everything ! Would come back again :)

Shh! Don't tell everyone or they will all come! It's my favorite time of year in St Andrews, the weather is still nice, the kids are back at school, the students aren't back yet, the Dunhill Championship is still a way off... So town and the aquarium are nice peaceful places to be. Glad you had a relaxed visit. More
