Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is a classic bronze statue depicting the merchant (and MP) standing with a hat and a stick in his left hand. Built in the mid-nineteenth century by the Italian Carlo Marochetti is placed on a pink granite pedestal. It has no notable features, but it still seemed well made (perhaps a lack of parochialism), Along with many other similar statues helps to embellish George Square. Too bad about the bird droppings that soil it.

It's just another statue in George Square. I guess you might like the statue of you knew who James Oswald was. I never heard of him.

He was a Glasgow merchant and also an MP, but, is nowadays largely forgotten.

However, from what I saw, he is still very popular with the pigeons.

This is a rather ordinary-looking statue, which is located in George square, just next to the city chambers.

A nice statue of James Oswald, in George Square. One of a few in the area. Well worth a look if your visiting.

James Oswald was Glaswegian merchant and Member of Parliament representing Glasgow back in the 18th century. Not particularly well known even in his home town, the statue is okay. A gentleman in a dignified pose. Fine to take a look if you're in George Square anyway, otherwise don't go out of the way to see it.

This is another of the fine statues enhancing the centre of Glasgow at George Square. James Oswald was an MP.

It's a statue. Of James Oswald. I am not sure how something like this could be either excellent or terrible. I mean, it is just a statue, of James Oswald, in the middle of Glasgow.
