About
The Trust owns Bridgeton Bus Garage. This was built for Glasgow Corporation Transport opening as a bus garage in 1965. It was closed by Greater Glasgow PTE in 1976 and was later used as a local authority internal transport depot. Whilst 1960s architecture is usually functional rather than decorative, the building deserves to be retained as a fine example of the building style of that period. The garage is now well established as a heritage centre for buses and commercial vehicles. There are over 100 buses, coaches, commercial vehicles and fire appliances in the collection. Vehicles are usually owned by individuals or small groups and range from hulks rescued from scrap yards and awaiting restoration to fully restored and active examples. The garage is open to the public on various dates in the year but at the moment this is not possible due to the Coronavirus restrictions. Our open days will return as soon as it is safe for us to do so.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My son, my partner and I went for our sons Birthday day out and was brilliant. It was the open weekend in October and there were old cool looking buses, trucks, fire engines and there were loads of stalls where people were selling all kinds of buses, vehicles and Lego sets. The staff were really friendly and helpful and getting an old style bus from the city centre to the garage made the day perfect. We will definitely be back. Thanks Bridgeton Garage for a fab day out.

This tour is one of the most enjoyable and informative tours of Glasgow. We visited it through the Open Doors programme and loved every minute of it. Mark is the ultimate Bus Nut. His knowledge and enthusiasm of this secret gem made the whole tour so enjoyable, combined with his Glasgow patter and stories of buses and their owners.

Really interesting collection and Mark was a knowledgeable, friendly and fun guide. Went during Doors Open Days but they have regular open days throughout the year. The sensory bus is very cool. I didn't have time for the gift shop.

I visited Bridgeton Bus Garage in Glasgow on Saturday and it was a wonderful experience. A great trip down memory lane and what our guides didn't know about buses wasn't worth knowing.

A great day out. Lots of old buses, fire engines and lorries. On the day I was there there was a snice selection of Morris Minors visiting. As well as lookoing, you can actually go for a run on one of the buses into the centre of Glasgow or over to the west end and back. Brings back great memories.

What a fantastic Day really enjoyed our visit. all the Volunteers were really knowledgeable and made the experience very personal and special. The only thing I would want to do is drive a bus. To others thinking this might not be for you it’s a gem and very reasonable for a family ticket for 1 adults and 2 children £12, Great café and very cheap for refreshments, Nice small shop and well priced, Good luck to the volunteers and charity board I will be back.

It was a really informative and fascinating tour of the garage. And it was great to see some models of buses that I remember from my childhood, like the Leyland Leopard in Central Scottish livery that took me to and from school when I lived in Hamilton. My two daughters (aged 8 and 10) were really bored, as you would expect, so nerdy bus-loving middle-aged dads should leave their young kids at home for this one!

Fantastic, visited for ‘open weekend’ and did not disappoint. Volunteers do a fantastic job keeping the vehicles and building in great order and their enthusiasm is infectious! Brilliant day!
