What a brilliant afternoon on a lovely canal boat. We took the three hour trip to celebrate a family birthday and had a great time. Sean and Ania are brilliant hosts who give you free roam of the boat, which includes everything you need. They will even let you steer for a bit!
They were really accommodating and let us on a bit early to decorate and set up the kitchen.

The cruise itself is great and takes in some beautiful country side. There is no rush and we even got to stop and explore the Stockingfield Junction Bridge.

Would highly recommend. Great value for money too.

This was an incredibly fun half day out for a friend’s birthday. The barge is really well equipped (fridge, plates, glasses, cutlery, proper toilet and more) and much more spacious then you (I!) imagined it would be. We were allowed on early to decorate with bunting and balloons, and there was loads of space to set up the picnic we brought. It was a really lovely, relaxed, fun day out with friends. The owners were really helpful and easy-going. I’m now trying to think of more occasions for hiring the barge.

We were there as part of a family get together to celebrate a landmark birthday and I must say it’s one of the nicest, most original occasions we’ve ever been on. We were totally oblivious to the canal network in Glasgow and since this experience we will definitely be doing this again. The couple who ran the tour were fantastic and made us all feel very welcome. A great memory and highly recommended

This was a fantastic little trip for my dad's 75th birthday. Family of 4 generations was all here today and everyone loved loved the day. This was a great experience and the barge was just beautiful. Dad had a wee drive of the barge also which he totally loved. For a special day I highly recommend this little trip.

Navvies Barge is such a fun thing to do! We took the short trip up the canal to the Maryhill locks and wished we'd done the longer one. You experience the city in a new way by gliding along at the water level. The barge is very pretty and comfortable inside - we laid out a picnic - with seats, tables, fridge, kitchen, toilet etc. This was a birthday trip for me with my pals so we brought plenty of fizz! I had a go at steering the boat - before having too much fizz - which was great! And, when the rain stopped we sat out in the front of the barge, and enjoyed drinks and snacks. Anya and Sean were really kind helpful hosts, and were also very tolerant of our (bad) singing...!

Had a fantastic trip! - very relaxing, taking in the sights on the Forth and Clyde canal. The kids loved it too. They did the scavenger hunt and spotted kayakers, swans, ducks, and even saw a deer at one spot. Sean and Ania made us feel very at home on the barge. We brought snacks and helped ourselves to tea and coffee in the cabin, which was cosy and welcoming.

Perfect all day trip from Glasgow to Kirkintilloch and back again. Greeted in the morning with tea and coffee and full use of barge facilities clean and tidy everything you need, fridges, plates, glasses etc .. plenty seats and lovely decor very traditional and Scottish. Loved the tartan bunting. Very good value for money. The kids got to see the action in the engine room department and seen the steering. We had full sole use of the front of the barge to enjoy. Everyone waving as we sailed past was a nice touch too and the weather held up. A really great day on Navvies Barge!! Thanks again!

We had the best day today out along the canal in Glasgow. The sun was shining and our group loved every minute of the trip. It’s a brilliantly run barge, hot tea and coffee ready for our arrival and we brought our own sandwiches and cakes for our tea party- a great way to celebrate the jubilee. Highly recommend Navvies for something different to do.
