I used to work quite close to this place and every month or so I would pop in to see what was brewing. Their exhibits are always interesting and well presented. If you are into the arts you should go.

The Lighthouse is best approached from a lane off the magnificent Buchanan Street. The building itself is worth a good study, designed at as newspaper printers by Charles Rennison Mackintosh. There is a major exhibition on him, his designs and some of his furniture. There is a tea room and interesting shop and other exhibitions come and go. If you... More

Gorgeous building - the views are definitely worth the climb, and the shop is nice as well! The spiral staircase is really beautiful.

A little hard to find but a hidden gem in the city centre of Glasgow. The views at the top are pretty spectacular. You can also enjoy a coffee and lite lunch

Thanks for your recent visit to The Lighthouse and for taking the time to leave a review. It can be a little difficult to find us, we're rather hidden away despite being in the heart of the city centre! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the views and lunch in the cafe. More

I am a guide at Taliesin West, the Frank Lloyd Wright school of architecture in Scottsdale, Arizona so this was a must visit. The were from the same era... late 17th and early 18th century and both world famous. The exhibits were excellent. Only problem was that the view from the top/roof was closed off that day. Many fine photos,... More

I would not only advise to visit this beatiful spot, but also have a look at the museums and/or expositions that they have on the respective floors. One that surprised me quite a lot was the one that illustrated the evictions that the city suffered some years ago. It is a great way of getting to know the history of... More

The Curator was on hand to answer any questions and was very helpful. Lovely building designed by R Mackintosh. Interesting museum on the third floor of his work. You can go up to the top of the The Light house and see great views of the City, or go up in the lift to another viewing tower . You can... More

First visit here. Free entry. Great building. Light and spacious set out over many floors. Escalators running you up to each floor. Lift available. Several galleries. Charles Rennie Mackintosh gallery has photos, some furniture and information. There are also models of unbuilt Mackintosh designed buildings. Enjoyed the photograph exhibition about demolition of flats and housing in Glasgow. Café. Toilets. Spiral... More
