Designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1901 and built in the attractive setting of Bellahouston Park in the 1990s, House for an Art Lover allows the visitor an insight into Mackintosh's renowned talent not just as an architect, but as a an artist, designer and pioneer of the Modern Movement. The venue runs regular arts themed events and is home to the popular Art Lover's Cafe.

My favourite s/side restaurant for lunch with friends. Lovely ambience both indoors & outside in the garden on the patio.The food is very good and the menu fairly varied from lighter bites to substantial meals. Service pretty good with v friendly helpful staff. Highly recommend.More

Have had lunch here a few times. Food has been very good and the service was fine. Was also at an anniversary dinner which was lovely at one of the function rooms and he meal was delicious. The gardens are well kept.More

Check their website as it does weddings also and the exhibition changes its opening times upto a week at a time. The cafe has separate opening times and is open to the public more frequent.

Sorry I can answer your question. I was leading a tour, which means the bus driver got us there, with the help of a local who served as a private guide. I bet it's really beautiful there now that summer has arrived. Enjoy!
